How's MA doing this season?

How are the crowds this year? Does it seem as busy as it was last year? Is landscaping improving more? I'm just curious. It seems that Geauga Lake has stole the thunder away from MA in terms of people talking about the park. Less topics about it as well. Any signs of new construction? what's up?

I can only speak from my one trip a couple of weeks ago for Timbersfest. There has been a bit more landscaping done, the pond areas cleaned up even more, an extended queue for Loggers Run (thankfully keeping the guests from crowding that section of the midway), and no signs of new construction at all.

The Swan Boats which were relocated from CP are a wonderful addition to the lake area.

As for crowds, this was pretty early in the season, but the water park was busy, and the rides had minimal waits when the water park was open.

None from '04. I left my camera in the car, and was having too much fun to go back out to get it. But I'll likely go back again this season.

I haven't been in the waterpark yet, and would like to take a few pictures there and some updated ones of the park for the scrapbook I'm putting together for MiA. My son and his GF have been in the waterpark and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I went on a Wednesday in June and the park was as crowded as I have ever seen it.

The Swan Boats aren't upcharge, are they?

No, they're like any regular ride.

They weren't allowing us to take cameras on them though, at least during Timbersfest. :( Like I'm going to hit someone with a unsecured camera while moving 3 mph? Oh well. I'll see if I can upload some '04 TF pictures later today for you.

I was there on the 4th of July this year (Sunday). It was a hot day and there were calls for some storms that day as well. The park was extremely empty, although the parking lot looked slightly more crowded. The only wait for Shivering Timbers was for the train to arrive in the station (they were running two trains and you never had to wait -- except for the front row).

The water park was dead as well. I waited in a line of three people once at a slide, but they were in my party. I was probably at the park from noon til about 6 pm, when then the rain finally arrived, which cleared out the rest of the park.

*I will say that the swan boats do look nice out on the lake.

I picked up the park brochure and have to say that looked much better than their prevoius ones. I wish MA would transform their web site it looks cheap in comparision to other CF park sites.
