Buying Season Passes Now vs. At The Gate

Is there an advantage to buying season passes early rather than just waiting and getting them at the gate? If you get them early, you are sent vouchers and still have to go through processing when you get to the park, so is any time saved?

Just wondering because I have never bought one at the gate and want to know how time consuming it is.

Here's a tip - but it's too late for 2001. For 2002 passes, buy them in October of 2001 and you can get them processed at the same time and the lines will be very short, if any at all. That way, all you have to do is show up on opening day 2002 and run on in toward your favorite ride!

Another tip:

Get to the park extremely early!

First, buying the season passes early (like before June for Six Flags parks, I think) will save you maybe 10-15 bucks off the full price of season admission. That's the first bonus, but you still have to get everything processed (like the photo for the card...etc) at the park itself.

I get to the park at 9:00. Park opens at 9:30. There's already a huge line at the 'season pass processing booth'. If you want to get it done without wasting good ride time... get there really, really early! Ya may wait a little longer before the park opens, but you'll be first in line when it finally does and have the rest of the day for the park itself!

(oh, and you'll get good parking too!)

By buying in advance, I have gotten free parking on the first visit. This happened with the SFO pass voucher for 2000 and with the SFMW pass for 2001. I don't know how many others do this.

The Six Flags page says that the season pass prossessing center doesn't open until noon in March and April (for SFA)! What if I want to go to the park earlier then noon in April?

Read on, it says "and during regular park operating hours." I'll probably be there bright and early on April 12.
