How'd you fare tonight, Paula? We had a few tornado warnings here in the Louisville area...

Flood water slides is a huge mess... I was at the beach waterpark and one slide was dark brown and open... I dont know why they had it open but i went in it, it was disgusting and all the other slides were clean. I went back a week later and they had just reopened it from the dirtyness. Also I know here in Cincinnati there was a ton of rain tonight so that must have passed through HW earlier

I certainly hope this is my final update. :)Indiana’s largest water park is expected to reopen Sunday. Splashin' Safari has been closed since a flash flood raged through the 11-acre water park and filled it with mud and debris Tuesday evening. “The final step in the clean-up process is testing the water now that all the pools have been cleaned and refilled with fresh water,” says Holiday World & Splashin' Safari president Will Koch. “This is a 48-hour process. We are optimistic that Splashin' Safari will reopen Sunday.” The cleaning process included pumping muddy water out of all the pools, cleaning them, and refilling them with fresh water. In addition, all the electric motors and pumps in the water park had to be dried out, and their seals replaced. At one point Tuesday evening, parts of the water park were under three feet of flood water. Meanwhile, Holiday World continues to be open daily. All non-season pass admissions to Holiday World on Friday will include a free ticket to return when both parks are open. Updates regarding Splashin' Safari will be posted on the parks’ homepage: www.holidayworld.com.

Good to hear that all will be back to normal on Sunday. Considering the scope of what happened, that was a pretty quick clean-up. Let's hope the rain will soon be over and done with so we can enjoy a precip-free summer.

You're just lucky that it was just mud! This last July we had a flood where I live in Ohio...and the sewer backed up into our basement.... on my BIRTHDAY! Yeah, what a great way to spend my birthday, cleaning up other people poo! :)

Seems like that Ohio River Valley has been terrorizing amusement parks for years. Coney Island in Cincy was on the banks of the Ohio River, right?

wednesday morning things were just not good at splashin safari. i couldn't believe all of the mess as we climbed the legend lift hill.

i'm heading back over on sunday afternoon...i can't wait to see how things look.

Heard a news story on the radio friday on the national new, ABC radio I belive.It had a sound bite with a female voice credited as being " a spokesperson for HW/SS. Was that you? Just curious.

Must have been...

...I did several phone interviews, although none with a network. But perhaps my soundbyte was so darn pithy it was picked up by the big guys. :)
