Will Stand-up Coasters ever offer Cobra Rolls?

There are too many new variations to try something as trivial as a Stand-up Cobra.
People are looking for cutting edge thrill rides and I believe, as do many others, that Stand-ups have had their day.

Maybe so, but I'm sure that more will be built. When they are, a cobra roll is one element I would love to see!

The one reason why they haven't been built yet could be they pull too many Gs and translate from inverted to upright too fast for people riding while standing up. You'd get whipped!

On the other hand, have a really large cradle to reduce the whipping i.e Immelman + Dive Loop = Giant Cobra Roll. Same element, no turnaround = Giant Sea Serpent. Or Dive Loop + Immelman = Giant Batwing. Same element, no turnaround = Giant Bowtie.

The same reasons probably apply to non-existent Zero-G Rolls. Well, except for the one on Drayton's Intamin Shockwave.

I'm sure if they were "stretched out" and made much fatter and bigger, they would go through it pretty smooth at a nice pace.

Also since Stand-ups are in the decline of popularity of firms that build them, I would almost gurantee that the answer would be no.

Standups put way too much stress on the ride and tend to over years produce larger stress fractures than a normal coaster. That, and the fact that injuries can occur to the legs when Gforces are too high. Compression of leg muscles is not a pretty thing. Too much risk involved.

In Europe we have only 1! Standup Coaster and 0! Floorless Coasters. Next year we will get 3 - 5 B&M coasters. (SW5 (Flying)- Alton Towers, Superman ...( Floorless)- Movieworld Madrid, Batman ...(Inverted)- Movieworld Madrid, Batman SFH or SFB (Floorless or Standup), Superman... (Floorless) - Movieworld Germany.)

How about adding a Zero- G Roll to it?

Maybe a standup puts more stress on the riders, but not the ride. The trains are the same weight (close enough, anyway) as a standard sitdown looper. If the center section of the cobra roll was large enough (like the first element after the drop) it would be possible.

Along the same lines... Why are Standups the only B&M's to feature the inclined loop? (Mantis, Chang & Riddler) I think a floorless or inverted would be cool with an inclined loop.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if no more standups are built for a while.

It's too bad, but I do think that stand ups may not be very popular in the coming years.

I agree about the waning popularity of standups. This is probably why SFA ditched plans to build one this year, and why they may never build one.

An incline loop on Talon? Where? I thought the elements were...

V2,, inverted loop? oh yeah, Raging Bull was the first to have that,, those are fun as hell! especially cause you think youre going to fall outta the train.
