Cedar Point Resorts

Anyone have any opinions of them? Which one is better? Should we stay on-site?

Also, I'd like more information about The Sandcastle and The Hotel Breakers.

I would stay at Hotel Breakers. The rooms aren't spectacular but the hotel itself is great. There are 5 restaurants in the hotel. Indoor outdoor pool. Also you can walk right up on the bach from it. Also the location and getting in early doesn't hurt.

A beach with Tube Rentals

5 minutes walking distance from the Challenge, Soak City, and Cedar Point parks.

Decent Rooms

Don't forget the added attraction of a close up window view of some of America's top coasters.

Breakers Express is also a good option if you're on a bit of a budget.

Still get the early entry that resort guests do, but with less cost then Breakers and Sandasctly Suites.

Beware that CP resorts charge a $25 cancellation fee, but you can change your dates/reserved room pretty much at will. So, if you aren't *sure* you're coming (and you can't spring the $25), reserve a non-CP property that you can cancel later.

I stayed at Hotel Breakers and it was great! The rooms were so-so, but the convenience of a two minute walk to the gate was well worth it. And, I don't think it costs much more, if any, to stay there instead of one of the hotels located on Milan Road (I think that is the name of the road).

To me Hotel Breakers is incredible, I also don't have to pay the bill. :D (I'm 15) The price is high, but the scenery is incredible! I always have a room facing towards the park, so it's fun watching the coasters at night. When you walk out of the hotel entrance, the whole park is in front of you.

The rooms are small, but I don't mind, most of my day is spent inside the park. They do have a TGI Fridays inside, along with an ice cream parlor. So you really don't have to leave the penninsula at all, but prices are really high.

Almost forgot! If you don't have a Joe Cool Club membership, you recieve a pass to get in the park with them. You get in like an hour early.

As stated, staying on site at a resort is fantastic. I stayed at Hotel Breakers last year, and am planning to stay at Sand Castle this year. Breakers was great...staying on the lake with just a quick walk down the boardwalk to the part was wonderful. My two days there felt like a "real" vacation. I couldn't believe I was only a few hours from home!

If you can go early or late in the season there are some great package deals. During the week of 8/29 for less than $375 (TOTAL!) you can get:

*2 nights/dbl occupancy at either Breakers or Sand Castle
*2 full-day admission tix to the park
*2 starlight admissions to the park
*4 tix to Challenge Park (including mini golf)
*$30 in "munch money" (not sure what that is...)
*Buy 1/get 1 free to Soak City.

That's an incredible deal for two people. The prices vary somewhat (like $20 on the package) based on which hotel you choose, but both were around $375. Plus, I figure the park will be dead that week, and chances for good weather should be good (hoping for that August drought...)

What about lighthouse point? The cottages look nice, its a good location, and its slightly cheaper than Breakers. I just want a good location and a bed. We went for 2 days, we were in the hotel from 2 till 7 am.
