The Voice Rollercoaster Nightmare 2004 at Tivoli Gardens

In short, every year one of the biggest radiostations in Denmark, The Voice, hold a rollercoaster marathon at Tivoli gardens. Usually this only involves single individuals, but this year they also have to ride Dæmonen, WHILE BEING HANDCUFFED TO THEIR MOTHER-IN-LAWS. Somehow this is supposed to be a way to celebrate the upcoming marriage of Crownprince Frederik and Mary Donaldson, where Queen Margrethe will become "Denmark's mother-in-law"

The contestants started riding today, and will stop on Friday when Tivoli open for the season.

I thought Luke Mably was the Prince of Denmark. ;)

Actually, they are riding Rutschebanen, not the Dæmonen.

They're riding BOTH. And to throw a little fact in, in Danish there are no "the"'s, so you change the tense by adding an ending. This means that Dæmonen and Rutschebanen mean The Demon and The Rollercoaster. *** Edited 4/13/2004 4:10:09 PM UTC by Raskal***

It *might* say that they are having a "rollercoaster marathon", which would mean the word Rutschebane might be in there to describe the marathon instead of the ride they're marathoning ON...just a thought...

Yup, and yup. Another fact: Rutschebanen is the 3rd oldest operating rollercoaster in the world. Food for thought. ;)

Anyway the times they will shift to ride Dæmonen are (in CET):

7:30 am, 1 pm and 4 pm.

There's also a gallery of photos where you can see them riding Dæmonen and Rutschebanen, including some good photos from inside the station of Dæmonen. The airgates have the Mazda logo on them. I know there's supposed to be a Mazda RX-8 placed near the ride.
