Acrophobia?

I'm a little confused about this ride. I read that you will be standing up but still have your feet dangling, and that you will be tilted forward. Does anyone know of a link where there is a design picture?

You know what, I read that too and was a little confused. Arophobia is surely a stand up giant drop, but why did they say "feet dangling" I wonder if that feet dangling quote in the press release was part of a standard description they use to describe Giant Drops.

I am also a little confused about how the tilting mechanism will work with the Gyro-drop system. I have seen really nice pictures of the stand up giant drop at Draton Manor. So 2 or 3 cars on it tilt forward, but how would that work with a giant ring of passangers? I'm anxious to see a picture or drawing.

If I rode a stand up giant drop with my feet dangling, I think the force of the decelleration would prevent me from ever having kids!

I still don't see how they can have the feet dangling... Not only would it be extremely painful, but it wouldn't exactly be standing, either.

Yep, it looks painful in the groin area. I don't know about this ride.

Ouch! I was thinking about going to SFOG opening day, but I might have to reconsider...

By the way, can you imagine what a stand-up space shot (a la Power Tower Red) would do to you? :( I hope they never try that.

This thing really sounds painful. Why not make some sort of head first drop tower. Anyone know if thats possible?

Acrophobia is not painful. They have a said where you stand up on a flat floor and a side where you sit down with your feet dangling. They just didn't explain it.

X Marks the Spot you're confusing Acrophobia with another ride. Acrophobia is a stand up GYROP DROP being built for 2001 at Six Flags Over Georgia. It hasn't opened yet :)

Well, judging from the illustration on that website, I don't quite understand why SFOG is calling it a Stand-Up Gyro-Drop. You are not standing, you are dangling while not in a sitting position. Personally, I believe the should have called it Vasectophobia instead of Acrophobia. It seems it will not only be painful to the male species, but it also will sterilize several. I hope for the male's sake that the drawing is inaccurate...
