Starting a Park/Coaster History Site

A friend of mine, who happens to hate operating amusement parks (as he doesn't find coasters fun anymore, and I think possibly since he is too big to fit into newer coasters), told me last night about his interest in starting a site dealing with amusement park and coaster history.

He is a real history buff, and is a very talented programmer. What would be needed for the site though is content. Basically, the proposed site would not compete with sites like this, but rather be a place to learn about and discuss the specific topic of history of current and defunct parks and attractions.

Please let me know if there is any interest from people here in finding the content needed to put together such a site.

Very nice idea. Hopefully you could get some ideas from http:/history.amusement-parks.com and build something kind of like that. It probably would compliment their theme which appears to be Coney Island and Carousels.

Good stuff, it's awesome seeing where this industry came from.

I think it is a great idea also.

Sounds cool! My PKI site has a history section with pictures, but I think omething that covered parks nationwide or worldwide would be awesome!

Have you or your friend been here?http://www.defunctparks.com/

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".
