Backyard Flume

Since everybody had his own backyard coaster these days ;-) some German kid decided to build his own backyard logflume. I think its very funny, yet very ugly and simplistic.

That is very ugly but amazing at the same time! I would have loved to have done something like that when I was younger. Very interesting...

Totally fugly... looks like something out of the projects.

Yet, it gets the job done, and looks fun...
...but dangerous... never know where there's a bent nail sticking out or some other sharp object. Looks like it could collapse at any time.

But I do give him props for trying.

The head clearance looks pretty close. Pretty awesome that you would build something like that.

Nahh....that's definitely not any of Anton's handy work.

Good old Shwartzkoph, now he made fine use of German engineeriing when it came down to his coasters but this guy's attempt at a water flume wouldn't even pass any building inspections...let alone the quality control evaluation officials.

Toward the bottom of the forum there was some scary looking water in that flume ride!!!!!!! It looks like a combination flume and biology project! =) I can smell the wet wood and plastic now. =)

I don't know Batwing, Did you ever see the Williams Grove Cyclone? That flum is probably safer than the Cyclone!

To justify the "craptastic" look a bit: The kid who built the ride claims that the whole thing consists of found materials!
The wheels on the car are from an old lawn-mower and the foil used to cover a swimming pool.
There is even a warning sign that says "you´ll get wet" :-)

I havn't seen it but I've heard quite a bit about it & from what I heard it's not good.

People who have ridden the cyclone (Williams grove) often comment on how the ride shakes so much that it looks & feels like it would collapse at any minute....the shoddy construction on that backyard flume appears to be no better.

Is there a lift or something or is the little cart just pulled up the hill when its done?

That's way cooler than our attempt at a flume: Slip-N-Slide placed on a hill. The grass stains never come out.....

Mile High Falls at SFKK! It doesn't look like it but I bet it smells the same! That water looks alittle brown to me! Better get some water softner tablets!

Those Germans... first Benzes and Beemers, now backyard log flumes! That's one impressive example of backyard engineering.
