LOL! Good to see there are still some of us out there. ;-)

I once heard "Livewire" and "Looks That Kills" on a Musik Express once.

John,

I LOVED that ride at Myrtle Beach, although I thought it was a Roundup or Gravitron? It's been forever. I remember it was air conditioned with strobe lights and played the best (loud) music. :-) Much fun.

I remember hearing "Runnin' With the Devil" in Dante's Inferno at Miracle Strip Amusement Park back when the song came out.
One of the rides at a county fair here last year was playing a lot of 80's metal. Actually it's the ride on the right in the background of pic #64 here. The 'Rock and Roll' something ride.

The Ride at the MB Pavalion was indeed a Trabant, called Sky Tracker. There is a newer model there, sans tent, that isn't nearly as good as Sky Tracker. It was my favorite ride in the park as it combined 2 of my fave things, club atmosphere(with lights, music, smoke machine, and Air Conditioner), with a really cool flat that provided some decent air.

On really busy nites during the summer, the ride Ops would give longer rides(even with the long lines) and dance around.

This was the first time I ever heard Snap's "I got the Power", and had to make my parents buy me the tape(yes, kiddies, the tape, didn't have a CD Player then, too expensive).

The Hard Rock park that Clint mentioned, is slated to open at an initial cost of $500M....quote]

I thought that the Hard Rock Park's budget was $200 million. Where did you heard that it was that high? It would be nice to see a $500 million budget because it would allow them to build a large hyper coaster.

$200M I can see a sweet Slayer the ride and not to mention Motorhead the Experiance! I can only imangine how sweet the dark rides would be: Cannibal Corpse or Carcass the ride. Talk about brutality! :) I'm in. \m/

I actually doubt that any of the rides will be themed to any specific groups, though I could be wrong. But they would have to pay some $erious ca$h to license the groups names.

But guys, you have to remember, Rock and Roll covers oldies, motown, current genre's and other things as well. Go to any Hard Rock Cafe' and you don't just hear Metal.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'd love some dark rides set to Metal:). I'm sure the areas will be themed to different aspects of music: Pop, Motown, Oldies, Metal, Alternative, etc....I just hope that we have 3 parks in Myrtle beach when it opens:).
