Everest Construction

It would be interesting to see Vekoma build a hyper using their new track designed. But I would wait till Everest is done first and rode it a couple of times to get a feel for the new track.

Yeah, this vekoma track has been used on Oki Doki at Bobbejaanland, which is opening this year. Maybe this will help solve some roughness isues, but im not sure, its all in the creation / manufacturing of the track...

I rode a great Vekoma coaster in '97 at Prater Park in Vienna Austria. It was called Megablitz, and used track that looked like Arrow Suspended track turned over, much like a small version of B&M track. The coaster featured 3 car trains I think, with inline seating like Mack Bobsleds, was about 50 feet tall. It was a compact coaster, with great drops and turns. It reminded me of a very good modern Jet Star. I've never heard or seen of another model like this one. Has anyone ridden it, or a similar model? I mention it becasue the track is similar to this new track AND the coaster was smooth and very good.

Don't forget that many of the older boomerangs essentially use Arrow corkscrew trains because at the time vekoma wasn't making their own.

Having the guide wheels on the outside doesn't really ensure a smooth ride,SFA's S:ROS has been getting a bit rough lately.

I would imagine it has to do with cost- have you ever really looked at Arrow/Vekoma track? Those right-angle ties with those welded plates in the corners must be expensive to produce. Morgans and B&Ms use single pieces of steel for track ties, if I'm not mistaken... those must be a lot cheaper in the long run.
