Mr. Show episode?

I distinctly remember a friend telling me about a Mr. Show episode where people board a roller coaster, and they all die. This keeps happening throughout the episode, and people still get in line for the ride.

Anyone know which season or, even better, episode number that includes these sketches? I've seen a bunch of spisodes, but never seen this one.

Well, I was never really a big fan of Mr. Show, but thanks to our good friends over at TV Tome, I can assure you that the episode you refer to appears to be the season premiere of Season 3 (the 12th episode produced overall). The episode was called "Heaven's Chimney," and the skit was called "The Devastator".

I remember that vaguely. I don't think everyone died, but they kept showing people getting off and it looked like a warzone triage camp. Haha.

Met the one guy that did the show (at one of my shows, as a matter of fact), but I can't remember his name, and I've never seen it.

What am I missing? Was it like Kids in the Hall? ...because that was brilliant. :)

Rob - Mr. Show is along the lines of Kids in the Hall, or Upright Citizens Brigade. Of course it has it's own little quirks. I know the first couple of seasons are on DVD, so check them out! Either that, or if you have HBO on Demand, there might be some episodes in there. My HBO on Demand (w/ Comcast) has some episodes from the 4th season right now.

Mr. Show is similar to KitH except about 1000 times funnier. Similar in the way there's always some sort of social commentary or abusrdity underlying most of the skits.

I never missed a show during it's original run. If you end up enjoying Mr. Show try to see some of David Cross' stand-up stuff.

My brother actually got the first 3 seasons this Christmas. Unfortunatly I have never seen any of the episodes. Maybe my brother will bring the dvd's home next time he's home from college. I've heard some good things about the show.

LG, I've met David Cross (couldn't remember his name until you just said it), and I thought he was a little too smarmy and snooty for me. Granted, he wasn't in his element, and I think he was playing himself up a bit. Still, I thought he was a bit of a snob at my show.

Regardless, I will check the show out. My local shop has some DVD's of it, as I noticed today.

Hehe, cool. I can see where the guy would probably just be a dick.

He's had 2 specials on HBO - one of those short little 30 minute dealies and a full blown hour long one.

I rarely see the little half hour one anymore, but the hour long one still gets rotated into the HBO line-up occasionally and was just on Comcast's On Demand up to a few weeks ago.

The shorter half hour one has a great ending bit about an elephant at Busch Gardens.

...and that should end my David Cross plugging.

Also, my earlier comment shouldn't be taken as a dis towards KitH - heck, I even own a copy of Brain Candy (still one of the greatest comdey movies ever). I love the Kids, but Mr. Show is just great.

Kids in the hall was my fave. Always will be. The whole "Eradicator" skit was just brilliant.

I am a HUGE fan of Brain Candy! "My empire is crumbling!!!!!!" Most friends of mine don't get it, though. That saddens me to no end. "Perhaps you'll just... be... GAY!" ;)
