SFGAm pricing gone up (slightly).

With all the additions and a re-theming to the park for the 2004 season, you had to figure admission pricing would go up.

General admission: $41.99 (up $2 from last year)

Child and senior tickets remain the same: $29.99

Parking remains the same: $10.00

Somethings just not right here.

But the buy 1 get one free season pass special is still at our Local Jewel/Osco Stores. $ 72 get you 2 season passes.

That cheap?? Why that is more expensive than wack ass Marine World. You guys got it hella good over therre!!

I work at hard rock hotel, so i get in for free, but its a rip off.

I saw this on the news the other day, and the analyst was talking about how theme park prices (in fla) are rising, because A, the economy has taken a turn for the better, B, people are financially more secure (for reasons as he said, from post terror fear savings), and C, fear has subdued somewhat for traveling, and locals, as well as tourists, are increasing in attendance. *** Edited 1/21/2004 12:50:55 AM UTC by Turbo***

Wasn't SFGAm's admission up around $43 a few years ago before some "price cuts"?

I still remember purchasing a discount ticket from Dominick's in 1988 for $12.

Apart from the animals, Great America offers a whole lot more. I guess it is an indication of the high real estate/cost of living in the bay area.

I just received and E-mail from SFGAM stating that pricing is $69.99 each if you buy 2, $81.99 for single pass purchases, and the pricing goes up after Jan 30th.

I still plan to go to SFKK in late March / early April for passes for the entire family. I expect to save over $100.00 and the best part is that I will get back on a coaster a month earlier than if I waited for SFGAM to open!

And then there is the price for SFWoA...

HardRider is right.It says 69.99 each if you buy two passes.Also the gate price was $45.99 a few years ago.it generally goes up $2 a year but once it got to $45.99 it dropped the next year.could be alot of people didnt come that year?

It never got up to $45.99. The highest it got to was $41.50 a few years ago, and then it dropped to $39.99 for the last 2 seasons.

Yeah, I believe Chitown is right...I've never heard of it getting up to $45.99. I do remember breaking $40 and then dropping back to $39.99.

I've always wondered why SFGAm didn't raise their prices sooner -- look at SFoG. It charges the same price but has *way* less entertainment than SFGAm does. Not to mention locations of each - Chicago has a much higher "cost of living" than Atlanta (at least from what I can tell having lived near both cities).

Compared to what other parks are charging, SFGAm is STILL a bargain at their new rate. Especially since no one ever pays full price.

The highest it got was $42.99 in 2000 and it went back to $39.99 in 2001.
