I was just wondering what eveybody thinks cedar point is missing, or what they would really like to see at cedar point. I know proabably everyone will say that they need another coaster, but what else could they use, and really benifit from. In my opinon some quality flats would be nice. But what do they really ned at cedar point

More people that "know" what's best for the park...

They are seriously lacking "up-to-date" flat rides. They have most of the older ones that you can find at most parks, but they are seriously lacking the newer flashier ones that have been appearing here in the last few years. (ie. frisbee, topspins, jump2, disk-o, etc.) I honestly think they should hold off on building another coaster until they get their flat rides up, or even more imporant -- they should add rides that the whole family can ride together. The last three coasters have all been a little too over the top for every member of the family to ride. Maybe it's time for a Rollersoaker? ;)

I would like to see Cedar Point get some brand spanking new flats. Not your fathers flats, but the newest of the new flats that no other domestic park has.

For the resorts, I would love to see an entrance, or at least an exit gate beside Mean Streak that goes to Lighthouse Point/Campground. When I stayed there I was in the cabin next to Mean Streak and it was quite a hike over to the Magnum Entrance. And it doesn't have to be a manned gate...It could be one of those crazy gates that only lets you out, but not back in.

Finally, If a gate is out of the question, then I would like to see an on-site transport system that travels around the entire property. Perhaps a monorail that travels the entire circumference of the penninsula.

And that's it for me and i'll be blissed out.

Flats are definatly the most needed thing at the park because cedar point only has about three or four flats that i will actually take time ou of my day to ride. If they were to add say two or more NEW flats that would help a lot. It would give guests a thrilling experience with out the long line of a coaster, and that is what is truly needed *** Edited 1/7/2004 4:53:17 PM UTC by Intamin***

I honeslty don't think I can say they are missing anything. But if I had my choice I'd pick a good wood coaster or maybe a dark ride either oldschool or like Exterminator. As far as flats go, I'm not one for the newer ones, I like to oldschool ones like at KW and CLP. But seriously my only real complaint about their rides is the short ride time of their flats, damn last year I swear the scrambler barley got up to speed then the ride was over.

Theming. Granted, with their experience with TTD, it's not too likely, but Montu's, DDFire's, and Alpie's theming put them all way above Raptor.

Cedar Point doesn't need theme for its rides.

I would like to see an indoor ride (or two). Pirate Ride wasn't great but it was something and what is a park without a good dark ride?

A mid-sized woodie twister would be a nice addition.

I would like them to use the Pirate Ride building and make it into a Sally Corp shoot em up dark ride. That would be cool :)

And I second the year round warm weather!

Trees. Much of the park is in the open and lacking shade, so it would be nice to see more greenery to help with the "comfort" factor there. Sure, there are fans in some queues, and covers in some, but they're not that great, nor do they help a bit with the midways. A couple of parks I've been to in the south have mister stations, where on the midway there is a tent-like awning with heavy misters you can walk through or just go in to cool off for a minute, and you hardly ever see the problems with people getting heatstroke like Cedar Point has.

I'd also like to see a good, family-oriented dark ride: something like the Pirate Ride or Earthquake ride of old, not like the newer, more intense movie-oriented types other parks sport. Something that even younger kids can go on would be nice (and no, I don't have children).

Pancakes.

Scientific polling indicates people place greater value on good pancakes than on any ride.

Anybody around here like pancakes?

Unless a nutty guy says nutty things, I don't see any reason for bringing up pancakes, unless YOU are the nut, BogeyMon. Are you nutty?

This is a great topic, Intiman.

I would like to see some high cap giant rides at CP. They seem to be big and thrilling enough to compare to the parks coaster linup.

I also agree with trees and a dark ride. Wouldn't it be silly though if that wished for Sally Corp shoot-em-up would be Snoopy themed?

I'll go with what Jeff usually rants about: Electronic signs around the park that tell the approximate queueing time for particular popular attractions. It would be great to not have to walk all the way from the back end of the park to the front end only to find super-long waiting times.

Another neat idea would be some sort of passageway across Millennium Island whether it be via raised footpath, or possibly an additional sky-way type ride.

BTW, good answer about the trees CrystalKat!

Agreed that a path across the island would be nice. Agreed that some modern flat rides would be nice. Agreed that wait time signs throughout the park would be nice.

I would like to see new flat rides and a super saturator. Trams for the parking lot would be a nice touch for those horribly busy days. A dark ride like the Den of Lost Thieves could be fun for younger ones and those too scared to ride the big rides.

Like many others, a mid-sized wooden twister. Mean Streak is too rough for most, and thanks to all the trims, the pacing is awful. Blue Streak is a great woodie; nothing like the old-fashioned out-and-back.

A good woodie with a lift hill of say, 120 to 135ft would be a great addition. Something similar to Ghoastrider, Legend, Villian, etc.

I think they can take a break on the coasters for a few years and build a state-of-the-art dark ride with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean/Haunted Mansion quality. I also agree with many of you about new flats as well.
