Fearbreaking Rollercoaster

I was just wondering, and I thought it would be interesting to see what your fear breaking rollercoaster was. Mine was Superman: Ride Of Steel at Six Flags Darien Lake.

Well gee....let see. I never really had a fear of rollercoasters, just wild anticipation. What I can say though is that after riding Superman: Ride of steel in 2000 every coaster seems conquerable.

Two part answer... My parents dragged me, kicking and screaming onto Skyliner at Roseland in Canandaigua, NY. I loved every second of it. It took me 4 years of dreading going upside down before I finally got on Viper. Screamed the whole way, and again, loved it. Mind you, I was 5 and 9, respectively, when I rode these for the first time.

I was scared as piss on GASM @ GAdv. the first time I rode it, but I've never been anywhere close to being too scared to ride. I don't think there was ever a single coaster that completely tamed my fear, but my first hyper was AC and I rode it 17 times the first (and only) time I rode it. It definitely got me less "clenchy" at the butterfly stomach and got me to enjoy it more.

I've never had a fear of rollercoasters , and I remember when I was seven I was just waiting 'till that fateful Lake Winnie trip when I *finally made it to 48 inches. Man , that first time I was sooooooooooo ready.

I was so fascinated with coasters then , I even drew a book on Lake winnie for my Kindergarten class. It was so cute!

I wasn't scared of anything after dragster lol, but really the fear breaking ride was Magnum.

BTW, Roseland is now a waterpark. Anyone know when the amusementpark closed?

This is a strange one: Mind Eraser at SFWOA. Back then it was Geauga Lake. I remember almost crying in the line, but on the ride, it was so fun, I almost cussed - I remember that specifically. I was like 5...

It was Shockwave at Six Flags Great Adventure. My mom and dad made me go on it. I was 11. I was so scared!

Space Mountain at WDW when I was 8 I think. Looking up and seeing those cars whiz around in the "night" sky by the stars and meteor showers and hearing the riders scream really was terrifying to me! It didn't really happen again til this year sitting on both TTD and MF trains.

Top gun at pki did it for me. Its the first time I started enjoying airtime :-D and the first hill. I rode the racer when I was just tall enough to and it scared the crap out of me cause I didnt like the way it felt. All changed now and I have no fear for my first trip to Cedar Point for ttd :)

Loch Ness Monster @ BGW. My Father and I (I was about 10 or so at the time) would do any non-inverting roller coaster, but none with loops. The fateful day, my family was out at BGW, and my Dad and I were daring each other to go on. While daring, we saw a grandmother looking woman and what could have been her grandson get off of the ride. We went on. Haven't looked back since!

(And just re-rode the Monster a few months ago, and it's still a darn good ride!)

Blue Streak at CLP, not even TTD or MF could ever scare me as bad as this thing, and to this day its my alltime fav coaster. Proof height and speed dont make a coaster!

Phoenix- My first roller coaster. I was 5 years old, and cried the whole way up the lift hill. When it was all over I loved it and wanted more.

SFGAm's Shockwave in 1989. I got so caught up in my fear-conquering that I rode it three times in a row, and managed to injure my neck in the process.

Ask about my references!

I was scared of steep hills until I rode Orient Express in 1989. After that, nothing intimidated me until my first stand-up--Iron Wolf in 1990. After that little dip out of the station, I felt fine, but man was I nervous up until that point.

Montu @ BGT. That was my first "Biggun". After that, nothing freaked me out to the point of not riding it. Now I ride TTD and stuff....quite funny to compare the old me to the coaster-freakish me.
