About Deja Vu

If a coaster is a shuttle coaster, does it mean it's launched? Because I was at rcdb.com and they said that Deja Vu is a shuttle. I just want to know if shuttle means it's launched

Not nessecarly a coaster with no complete circut is a shuttle

To quote Six Flags Great America website, "Thrill seekers plummet from 178 feet, fly head-over-heels at 65 mph over the outside of a vertical loop and a giant 110-foot high boomerang turn with nothing but the sky above their dangling feet. One time forward, one time backward… it's Déjà Vu." ....I have my doubts this will be a launched coaster. However Vertical Velocity will be.

SFGAm's website also says launched backwards out of the station, then allthe stuff you said

I dont see where that is at on the webpage regarding Deja Vu. I did find it for Vertical Velocity however. Here is an excerpt of the "OFFICIAL" PR release.
"Suspended in a single ski-lift style train, guests climb a 178-foot tower
at a 90-degree angle using "cable-lift" technology. Deja Vu pulls passengers
up the tower faster and quieter than conventional chain lifts. Thrill seekers
then plummet straight down and face down at 65 M.P.H. through a 110-foot high
boomerang turn and over the outside of a vertical loop.
The train then lifts up a second 178-foot tower using the cable lift
system. Once the vehicle has reached the top, guests will be released and

I believe that DejaVu will use a cable lift (like MF)backwards out of the station. This will be faster than the chain lift in a regular Intertigo, but I would not consider it a "launch".

A full-circuit coaster is NOT a Shuttle! Just look up the meaning of 'shuttle.' It means to move forward and backward over the same route inbetween two points. Can be cable/chain lifted or launched. 'Nuff said...

How can Deja Vu use another cable for the second spire? Can the train go up the spire with momentum and then latch on at whatever point that momentum runs out? I only thought that was possible with chains.

In the paper today there was an article about the 2 new coasters and it said Deja Vu would use a cable lift.

I guess the thing on SFGAm's site was a typo. Two newspapers and offical Press release say cable lift.

I think it is going to be like the FACE OFF at PKI
It takes you back , lets you go, you go through the boomerrang and then go back to the top of the second partial hill. As the speed slow down you go backwards and do the same thing over again.
break will slow you down as you hit the station

Its not going to be launched it will be like a regular bommerang, but way bigger, steeper and faster

A shuttle has to do with the lift and drop mechanism. A boomerang is a shuttle because it is lifted and droppped into the course of the ride, look up the term shuttle in any dictionary. It is otherwise defined as a non-continuous coaster.
