Demoltion Pictures of Mr. Twister?

Does anyone out there know if there are any demoltion pictures of Mr Twister on the net?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone can direct me in the right direction.

I have found one site that had pics of the demolition of the original Elitchs, but the site has been gone for some time now, and I have found no other site out there.

Much of the coaster was destroyed by fire before they could begin demolishing it. I do not remember ever seeing any of the actual demolition pictures. Sorry

I remember the first fire got the main arcade building. But I thought the second fire only engulfed the Splinter and Wildcat's lift hill.

But remember that the other two Twister trains were destroyed in one of the fires. I was almost certain that part of Mr. Twister got burned. BTW, nice signature J..:)

Twister used to have 4 trains. They would run two and have the other two for maintinence or whatever. When the park closed, they moved the two trains that ran until this year to storage or the new location, but for some reason waited to move the other two. One of the fires destroyed the other two trains at the original Twister. Ask Shannon about it, he can give you more details than I can.

Looks like it put up a fight. The two pictures that show the track dangling can vouch for that. I sure miss the white beauty though. It'd be nice if T II would be as fun.

Congo Falls - 90 (one day)

Does anyone remember if this ride was one of the featured coasters in the OMNIVISION/Cinema 180 films. One is also intercut in "Project Brainstorm" by Douglas Trumbull. They show Loch Ness Monster and a woodie that could be Mr Twister.

Did it give a good ride?

It gave an insane ride. If you have ridden Twister II, multiply the lateral forces that gives by at least two. Not to mention, Twister II is missing that awesome second drop into the structure, and the inclined helix. The undulating helix on Twister II is nice, but it doesn't provide near the g's that the orignial did. Mr. Twister was a ride that found the balance between insanity and enjoyment. It made you laugh like a moron while you were getting your ass kicked. Twister II is a fun ride, and although the new trains made it better it still isn't as good as the original.

Thanks Harry Traver for the link I know it took some digging to find those pics, it seems pictures of the demoltion are hard to come by these days.

Out of any defunct ride ever this coaster has to be the one I wish was still with us. I would have loved every second!
