Much cheaper? CP's are on sale right now for $85, but none the less, still a good deal.

SFA seems to have a nice deal already. Read this direct from their site...

"Also during Fright Fest 2003, Guests will have the opportunity to purchase 2004 Season Passes for $49.99 plus tax each. That's $3 less than the best price of 2003! What's more, if purchased during Fright Fest, Guests can use their 2004 Six Flags Season Pass to visit the rest of the operating season of 2003 as well!"

Seems like a great deal if I've ever seen one!

Has anyone noticed the trend towards including parking in the season passes without extra cost? I am considering a PKD one (loved the park and its really only a day-trip away for me) and noticed it, plus I was researching Hershey passes and they too have parking included. I think that's a really cool gesture towards the season pass holders, and takes the "reapy" time for the pass down below two visits for most parks!

free parking is nice, but i cant even begin to imagine how a park like 6 flags would profit, especially when the pass is only $40.

im not an accountant however and if they want to sell me a season pass for $40 then im not complaining. i will renew mine at fright fest.

That sucks. I wish I could get my Season Pass for only $29.99. But, that rate is only for the Progressive Employee's there that day. :(

They offer these deals at the end of the season because they are looking to essentaly get 2 gate entrance admissions at the same time, and more importantly, on the books before the close of 2003. Most peeps (with the exception of enthusiasts like us) will buy the pass and perhaps never make it back in 2004, or use it only once. Either way Six Flags wins, either with the upsell alone or with the return business.

I'll have to check what SFMM is doing, although they usually run their deals in December or January, since they are open then.

This is different because the last 2 seasons they weren't selling passes at SFA for the upcoming year.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the possibility of at least something new being added to a few of SF's parks for the 04 season? but I highly doubt it.

Just taking a guess here, but I know UF has underwritten our passes for SilverSrings/Wild Waters the last few years....just THIS year, we finally started paying a $10 "co-payment" for our passes.

I'm wondering if Progressive isn't defraying the cost of the passes for their employees, as opposed to SF charging those people a lower rate....I have no basis for this guess, but it seems unlikely that SF would want to give passes away any cheaper than they already are....

Actually, BATWING FAN SFA, that's right on the money. Most Six Flags parks will NOT be adding a new attraction / coaster / whatever in '04. That could be motivation to sell the '04 passes early, before these folks figure out that nothing new will be added to the park. If they waited until the Spring to sell the passes and have nothing new to announce, that makes a season pass purchace seem less likely.

Best price is the $85 I paid for the "All-City" pass that gets me unliminted visits to Silver Dollar City/ Celebration City/ and White Water... not many coasters, but still a great deal.

Six Flags' theory is that money follows attendance. It's better to get lots of people into the park for $cheap because it's easier to extract cash from them once they are inside than it is if they never set foot inside the place.

For the most part they're right, but they have to be careful about providing value for product inside. An $8 dinner is OK, but $4 for a Sno Kone is a bit much, and $3 for a Coke is insulting. But Six Flags is making their money inside the park, not on the gate.

Dave, I *totally* agree, but I don't think I've ever heard of a SF season pass being any cheaper than the early season prices at SFKK....two years' ago, we got them for 40 bucks, thew lowest price I've ever seen for a SP to ANY park, SF or not. I just don't see ANY reason why they should accept less than that for a SP, regardless of the pricing policies INSIDE the park....

Heck if I know whether Porgressive is putting up some cash to get their employees cheaper season passes, but for SF's sake, I sure HOPE so...;)

Valleyfair has SP for $64 I'm temped to get those we are supposed to hit Minn late next spring to see some family, but I figure the $$ I save on SF passes $85 is well worth CP, we paid 89 this year and got about 20 plus trips in. So thats not to bad.

I'm tempted to go for the SFA pass considering my other option is SFGAdv. for $80ish (price last year). My only concern is the coupons, because GAdv. had a bring a friend free, bring a friend for $10, bring a friend for half, and a bring a friend free in Sept.

Anyone know what SFA's coupon book looks like and how useful it will be for GAdv.?

They had season pass calanders this year for SFA so I doubt that you can use the discounts at SFGRADV.
