I can see why you think it doesn't, its because there are wires on the track. Its an Arrow track. Not arrow supports though

They did something similar to this on the GASM and Shockwave at the SF parks.
Notice that there aren't any white supports attached to the tops of the elements with the extra bracing. There's your answer, it's just reinforcing the track so it doesn't give as much when a train rolls through. Perhaps yet another reason why DF allegedly gave such a rough ride?
