Why is Mamba better than Steel Force?

Why is Mamba better than Steel Force is it because of the second hill the g's on the helix or what? I have NOT rode Mamba but I would think that the experience would be close to the same.

Ok I wouldn't say either is better than the other mainly because they have different things to offer.

Mamba indeed has the higher second hill and a more intense helix which drops to the ground and hugs it. Steel Force on the other hand has a smaller second hill so it goes over it quicker. Its helix element starts off slower and drops to the ground goes back up and then drops again. It also has a tunnel which Mamba does not. Both have nice views, Mamba has a view of downtown and I-435, while Steel Force has it's "countryside" view. Both are works of art and instead of saying this one is better than the other and what not, ask "what does this coaster have to offer me in the thrills department." I just don't want to start another flame war with a thread like this.

I have ridden both coasters in question, and there is no doubt in my mind Mamba is the better of the two. Contrary to what Dustijn says, I think Steel Force's second hill is significantly *slower* than Mamba's. I get air the entire way down in the front car on Mamba, whereas Steel Force I barely even leave the seat.

Mamba's helix is far superior to Steel Force's also, IMO.

The only thing I think SF has on Mamba is two tunnels and better bunny hops on the way back home. Other than that, I think Mamba is the superior ride.

You might also think that rider participaion may have something to do with it being voted higher. Mamba is pretty much the only hyper in the Midwest. The closest Hypers to it are Raging Bull in Chicago(East), Wild Thing In Valleyfair(North), This Year Titan in Dallas(South), and Desperado in Las Vegas(West). All of those are very long distances from K.C.

Steel Force on the other hand has other hypers very short distances from Dorney Park. 2 Supermans and Nitro are within a few hours. And on the western side of Penn/NY you have Steel Phantom and the other Superman in Buffalo.

I would say that all 5 of the coasters mentioned above. 3 SROS, Nitro, and Steel Phantom are closer to Steel Force than the distance between Mamba and Raging Bull. You could probably also add in MF and XL200 at CP.

The whole point is to say that Mamba don't have any competition. Steel Force Does.

But I have not been on SF so I will not judge the two against each other. But I will say as far as demographics go Mamba was the best thing that WOF could have added When it was added.
