The year of the green coaster

Has anyone noticed the amount of green that is being installed for coaster track this year.

SFMM - Deja Vu
SFOG - Deja Vu
SFGAM - Deja Vu
KW - Phantom's Revenge
SFWOA - X-Flight
PGA - Mad Mouse
PKI - Runaway Reptar

I think the parks are using the brighter colors. They made Batman @ SFOT mainly yellow.

Let's not forget Runaway Reptar at PKI this year. Gren supports and yellow track.

I think I made this point a few days ago... Vekoma must have an overstock of green paint they're trying to get rid of or something. :) Every one of those rides is a Vekoma, except Phantoms Revenge which Morgan did in a slightly different shade of green. Pretty weird.

PGA's Mad Mouse is an Arrow, not a Vekoma.

Legendary, who really likes the Deja Vu color scheme.

Hey I love GREEN, it's my favorite color. Everyone thinks I'm weird because of it. Well, there are other reasons why peole think I'm weird...lol...

Well look its what Six Flags parks a notorious for CLONES. I don't know if you would say its the year of the green coasters because you got 3 coasters that are clones.

I think alot of parks are using green to make the coaster standout out from all the whites and grey and red tracks

The green color coasters are a nice touch to a park.

I think that brighter colors attract more people. With bright, "shocking" colors, it makes the people basicly ride the ride/coaster. Plus I like the color green. Not too many coasters with green colors as of yet.

I guess green has just taken over for red. We saw a fair amount of red ones in the past few years.

Duh, whoops, I totally forgot about PGA's mouse being green too. So maybe Vekoma sent Arrow and Morgan a few buckets of their leftover paint. :-)

Arrow did seem to have a thing for red track, especially on their suspended coasters... are there ANY Arrow suspended coasters that don't have red track? (other than PKI's Top Gun, which used to be red until they painted over it in silver)

Many of these rides also feature bright green track. X-Flight for example will use the dark supports to balance the bright color right out.

The color is also a bit of a fad. Many rides were blacks, blues and silvers for a while. We have seen a jump in bright rides since parks are making them more visable and closer to the public roads.

With all the eye-grabbing products nowadays, they feel they need to build brighter rides to grab attention even faster. (Especially carnival rides)

thats what there doing for V2 nitro and x-flight. Also talon is a very bright color along with titan.

If I remember correctly, 1999 was the year of the yellow coaster including:
SFOG - Georgia Scorcher
SFOT - Batman the Ride
PKI - Face Off
plus multiple mouse rides.

I wonder if there's a coaster "color scheme" guru like there is for automobiles, fashion, etc?

Shockwave at SFOT is also being painted green this year! :)
