So out of curiosity I did a search for "Wildcat" here, and there were 17 Wildcats listed. Can anyone think of any other names that get used more? I tried several - the closest I came was "Cyclone" with 15.
60 - Wild Mouse [total also includes Wilde Maus & Wild Maus]
46 - Roller Coaster
36 - Cyclone [includes other spellings and paring with other words such as Texas Cyclone, etc]
33 - Mad Mouse [total also includes Mad Maus]
32 - Wildcat [also includes Wild Cat and Wilde Cat]
27 - Boomerang [29 if you include Boomerang Coaster to Coaster]
26 - Corkscrew [includes pairings with other words, like Canobie Corkscrew]
26 - Galaxy [also includes Galaxie and similar spelling in other languages]
25 - Tornado [and similar spelling in other languages]
21 - Little Dipper
and the name Dragon is an odd one:
31 - coasters with the name Dragon
49 - if you also include Dragon Coaster
70 - if you also include Dragon Wagon
83 - total for any coaster with the word "Dragon" in it's name.

Be polite and ignore the idiots. - rollergator
"It's not a Toomer" - Arnold Schwartzenkoph

Rob - while rcdb isn't complete it does have a lot of those defunct coasters in it's database. I searched for all coasters, not just those operating.
Andy - there are only 13 coasters with "Batman" in the name; only 11 with "Viper." Those names seem more popular than that because most of them are here in the states.
Chuck - Even if you only search for the word Dipper rcdb gives you 47, and that includes Big, Giant, Little Dippers and others.
Yes, Soggy, but that's like searching for the word "the." For example, your search results includes "Dragon Coaster" and "High Speed Thrill Coaster" in additon to rides simply named "Coaster." That's not how I conducted my search.
