A park needs to purchase Coney's Jumbo Jet

Another Classic Schwartzkolf bites it. I wish a park would buy it before it becomes scap metal.

Sorry to say this but I have already said where its going. The ride is being shipped to China around the Hong Kong area. I am close friends with the owners of the Coney Island Go-Karts and Batting Range, and they told me it left in the beginning of the month and should be up within a month or two.

Can you ask them why they removed the ride to begin with? We lost too many "seaside" Schwarzkopfs in the NY/NJ area recently! Are you at liberty to say if the owner will be replacing the ride with anything?

Was this Jumbo Jet actually running or was standing but not operating? I have never heard of anyone talking about this ride before.

If I recall, it was SBNO for some time before it's sale. The chief problem as I understood it was the cost and availability of parts needed to make it operational. Parts were still available on a special order basis through Wieland, but needless to say they weren't cheap.

Yes the ride was not operating for two years because of lack of funds to fix the train motors which lift the Jumbo Jet, also problems with the rides breaks led to the having to sell the ride off. The replacement was a Huss Top Spin Small Model and I am not sure if they opened the ride yet because of inspections but I haven't spoke to the owners in 2 weeks.

I remember riding the Jumbo Jet in 2001- that was the last time I was at Coney so I am not sure if the ride operated much longer after that. No one really spoke of the ride because if its neighbor (the famous Cyclone) getting the lion's share of attention.

This proves, once again, that you don't realize what you have until its gone.
