Acrophobia's new, larger seats are in!

Hey, just got back from the park, in which the reason I went was to try Deja Vu out for the first time this year, but alas to no surprise, it was closed the whole day. Anyhoot, Kevin and I rode Acro twice today and holy crap, those seats are HUGE!

I like them much more now, you have more of a seat so it's more comfortable, and you still feel like you're standing. So I don't want to hear any guys complaining because it "hurt" them lol. It's as comfortable as can be!

It's good to hear that about Acrophobia. We just need another installation elsewhere...

I rode A-castrate-phobia in March and must say that it was the MOST PAINFUL ride I have ever been on. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to dangle someone from their crotch area and then drop them from a semi-high height only to stop them suddenly causing their entire body weight to compress into their groin region. "Well it sounded like a good idea at the time..." The thing is, more women were complaining than the guys - so you KNOW that something isn't right. I'll stick with the DZs anyday.

I think folks who gripe about "the pain" either are exaggerating, or they just don't know how to "ride" correctly.

It's all about positioning yourself.

The first time I rode it, I thought the pain was horrible, but I gave it another ride and learned how to ride it with no problem at all. This came in very handy when doing that video shoot last year.

Oh please, that's like saying beer is an aquired taste. You shouldn't have to "learn" how to ride a ride in order to not feel pain in the private area.

That's good news to hear! I was forewarned about the appropriate riding procedures, and have never had a problem, yet have seen others get off with "issues" (I wasn't sure if they were faking or not).

This reminds me of other headbangers where people say things along the lines of: "If you hold your head forward, bring an inflatable pillow, and take 5 painkillers afterwards, it's really a good ride" - No thanks.

I-4: The scariest ride in all of Orlando!

As bad as it sounds, guys, you've got to "readjust" yourselves before you ride. The first time I rode was not comfortable at all, but after that, I knew the nuances of the seating, as was able to comfortably arrange myself. Now, it is without a doubt one of my favorite rides in the whole park.

I have never had any problem on Acrophobia. I think most of the time people just exagerate about how much it hurts. Last time I went some guys were screaming about the pain they were in when they got off, and then a few minutes later I saw them get back in line. I saw the same people riding it again that afternoon.

A true enthusiast goes on the kiddie coasters.

I wish Six Flags great aventure would remove stuntman's freefall and put in acrophobia type ride but make it 250 ft. tall. I would really like to ride it.

The only ride I have EVER had "troubles" with has to be Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster at PKI... ;) Hopefully you catch my drift.

MG87....ROFL. I got assaulted by Acro ONCE, and learned from the experience, and have been fine since. Luckily (?) the lines for SDGC were so long, I had the time to take note of several riders coming off the ride making minor/major *adjustments*, and wincing, and I was able to take proper precautions....;)

Perhaps the moral is that with SOME rides, longer lines aren't *always* a bad thing?

Yeah, the only reason I had "struggles" were because I was not expecting it. That little jolt certainly "woke me up" to the world of bracing myself on every ride!

I think that was my problem as well. I wasn't expecting the "impact" so I didn't brace myself, thus the pain. Oh well, there are better rides in the park to ride so that I don't need to worry about walking right by Acro.
