Arrow's Virginia Reel, ArrowBATic, and N. Suspende

I just visited the Arrow site and downloaded some really cool brochures. Here are some interesting fun facts about some of Arrow's coasters.

Virginia Reel: The newly designed VR features two, five coach trains.The VR train is capable of not only spinning independently from the other coaches; it can also have a controlled spin ( how cool ). Each coach provides either two foot petals or two hand handles ( depending on the train design). It gives the unique experience of letting the riders determine when the coach spins and in what direction. So you can start, stop, or change the direction of the spin or not spin at all. the speed of the spin is determined by a third running rail in the design of the track. The track contains no blocks.

Bodiliess Suspended Coaster: The new bodiless suspended vehicle is not a motified version of the orginal suspended. Instead it utilizes the improved features from 4D and ArrowBATic. the coach itself features a two in front and three in back. eliminating obstructed veiws.

4D: Has a new element called the wave. the site doenn't mention how the wave functions; but does offer a computerized pic of it.

Sounds pretty cool. It strang that Arrow doesn't mention Hyper Coasters or Shoot the Shoots in their product line.Does Arrow still make those type of rides anymore?

Forgot to mention that Arrow offers a really cool 32 page brochure on the 4D. I also clicked onto a photo of a virtual 4D train and put it onto my wallpaper. You should check out the site.

The idea of the bodiless suspended coaster is a bit far fetched I think. My local park Chessington had Vekoma fit two-abreast trains on the Vampire, and the park had awful problems with safety envelopes - a lot of supports had to be changed, landscaping done etc., all to accomodate these new cars.

Imagine the changes needed to accomodate 3-abreast cars!

Moosh, I'm not touching that with a 205' pole......IMO their best hyper work can already be found along the sandy shore of Lake Erie. And though I like the interactive feature of the Reel, I still prefer a true recreation of the originals. Plus the "modern" Reel would have so many restraints you couldn't reach the levers. lol

IMHO a Virginia Reel would fit in just fine at Celebration City, since it is trying to portray a trolley park/boardwalk and those were rides you founf back then

I remember reading in an Arrow brochure that the 2/3 abreast trains could be fitted to existing swing coasters, which is what I remembered, sorry.

I'll have a rummage for the brochure and quote directly from it if you want.
