Best Coaster designer?

Definately B&M. They design most of my favorite coasters!

People: Remember, Ron Toomer DID NOT design Magnum. Steve Okomoto did. Ron was the president of Arrow at the time and takes much of the credit.

Werner Stengel rules, by far. He did SoB and MF!

B&M are incredible coasters, seriously, but on the other hand...I'm a "wood"man, check the name. And I never thought that wood should twist and turn like it can after a few applications of our friend water. GCI turned my head this past summer, so much, in fact, that I'm heading to SFA just to ride Roar. Since Wildcat and Lightening Racer this past summer, my new favorite designer is now GCI (CCI as close second). I only wish CP can find a way to fit one into their scheme.

Steel: B&M for originality, but Intamin for comfort

I like arrow and B&M for there stand-up designs.

Is Werner Stengel associated with Intamin PKI Fanatic? Because Intamin designed MF.

In the steel category I would go with B&M amd Intamin.

In the wooden category I would have to say that it would GCI with CCI not too far behind.

Anyway, I'd say B&M for the same reason -- they make my favorite coaster type and do it well. Of course I also think they make the best of any other steel coaster. Intamin is a close second, but I haven't ridden enough Intamin rides to accurately compare them. It's hard to see them being better than B&M.

Also, what does GCI stand for? I always thought it was somehow the same as CCI, so who are they and what are some of their good rides?

Stand up Fan GCI stands for Great Coasters Intl, and it is a faily new company of ex CCI employees. Their designs are very twisted, and the Millenium Flyer trains that they have designed is going to allow for some great new designs on a wood layout. Good examples are Hersheypark's "Wildcat","Lightning Racer", and Six Flags America's "Roar."
