S:UF only cost 5-6 million?

Thats what some people think this ride costs. Sounds to cheap to me. Its a B&M, so this amount doesnt seem right. Here is a statement in an article of the Chicago Tribune.

"Although Six Flags Great America has only said its Superman--Ultimate Flight coaster cost "multiple millions," other industry sources place a $5 million to $6 million price tag on the ride."

There's no way that it cost only a mere $5 to $6 million,the two vekoma flyers(Batwing & X-Flight cost $17 million each) & as we all know B&M are generally a more expensive company when it comes to the cost of their products,especially an advanced ride such as the flying coaster.

That seems *really* low... If that is all a B&M flyer costs, I would expect to see a S:UF clone in every SF park on the planet.

Wouldnt anything over 1 million be multiple?

Yeah, but if you look at all the extra silly nonsense on the Vekoma's (all the on-board processing stuff/junk) it's not hard to see where all the money is going. Especially since the Vekomas needed three trains and the B&M's only need two much less tech. heavy trains.

Don't the B&M flyers require pretty much the same onboard PLC's to monitor the safety systems of the trains (ie restraints,position of the seating unit relative to the chassis etc)that the VFD's require?
