No one mentioned the funhouse CP had. It was a walk thru and I think it was near oceana. Outside it looked like an upside down house.
Boblo Island was a home park for me. I used to love the two hour boat ride. Time to anticipate the fun ahead and time to reflect on the fun we had. Boblo wasn't a spectacular park, but it was fun. Unfortunately it ran into a lot of problems in the 70's and changed hands a couple of times. In the 80's the park got a boost and changed hands a couple of times, but took a dive again by 1990. An entraprenuer took a shot at it in 93. I remember he gave away a lot of free days at the park and put on live shows with nationally recognized bands. Unfortunatly, the guy was hurt bad in a car wreck and the park was sold for development of a resort community.
There was one ride there that I've never seen anywhere else. It was like a ferris wheel with tubular cars connected at the nose and tail, in-line with the direction of the wheels rotation. The cars could be rotated on the nose/tail axis what was like a fixed steering wheel in front of the seats. Call me loopy, but I just loved this ride. I would get the car spinning so fast that it would rotate three times from the time the nose reached the loading platform to the time the tail exited it. Anyone familiar with this ride? Remember it's name? Know where anything like it exists?
I loved the Tilt-a-Whirl too. Any wonder?
There's a pretty good compilation of Boblo Island history at the Coaster Enthusiasts of Canada site under closed parks

If I'da thought about it a little longer, I'da spent more time thinking.
