Track Spotted on I-20

As I was leaving work at SFoG today, there was a semi with 2 track pieces in traffic eastbound headed towards downtown Atlanta with 2 black pieces of track on it. One appeared to be some sort of flat bend. They were about the size of B&M track, and had ties that looked like B&M, but it had a tubular spine. The flat ties did not extend outwards like Morgan track. They were almost flat with the track, but had a little bit of V shape to these ties. They were not box like ties, just flat single pieces of metal. Anyone know what this could be?

Well, from your description and this, that sounds kinda like Arrow suspended. I don't know where they would be headed, but I keep hearing rumors about AK, but I don't think they have much weight.

I used Trackspotting 101, and yeah, it did look like Arrow Suspended, but who would buy Arrow Suspended as the track looked kinda new. Does anybody know if the track "spotted" at Universal looks like this?

well the closest thing to B&M would be Giovanola

What park getting a coaster would be in that direction?

It doesnt have square spine though. You know, it kinda looks like ArrowBATic track as seen on the arrow website...

Its track for the mummy thing at Universal I saw the other pieces of track sitting behind back to the future. IMHO it looks like some sort of modified premier track, but that just my guess, the gage looked right but the spine looked bigger than other premier.

Yep, I thought exactly what Alantis said. That fits the desciption others have talked about seing at USF. Basically black Premier track with an addition to control the rumored "spinning" feature. I know Premier is right down the street from me outside of B'more.....if the track is made anywhere near here I suppose it would go through Atlanta. Of course, track made anywhere in the US would probably go through Atlanta to get to Orlando :)

I do not think the track would be made up there as this track came from west of Atlanta heading to downtown, probably to go on I-75 south to Orlando. It makes perfect sense.

Yep, among closer examination of other pictures, it was definitely Premier track.

Premier is supposedly the supplier of the new Mummy ride at USF, and since that is the only new Premier ride I know of (as well as the only new coaster with black track that I know of), I would guess it will wind up in Orlando.

Well, it's sure nice that Premier is doing something. With the exception of the train retrofits, they have been very quiet for the last 2 years. I admit, I used to not care if they built because I hated their rides (restraints!). But now with the new restraints, I want to see more Premier rides! :)

YUP,Premier is making a pretty strong comeback with the new restraints on their launchers but it's about time for them to begin looking into designing more conventional gravity powered coasters to increase their product line.

I'd like to see if they can produce their own inverted coaster or perhaps even a flyer(not launched of course) but in order to do it they'ed first need to come up with an OTSR that's less painful than the ones used in their launched rides.

USF is in for a nice treat by Premier, does anyone have a clue yet as to what the layout of this ride will be? I'm wondering if perhaps this might be a dark ride on coaster tracks & not a coaster at all.

BFSFA....I wouldn't expect to see OTSR's on any more launched Premier rides...I *believe* that THAT lesson has been learned...and applied....

BATWING - nothing has been released but I am under the impression from a few sources that this will be a darkride/coaster combo. But that is NOT confirmed, so please do not take that as proof.

I have ridden a dark ride/ steel coaster combo and it was great! (interactive too!) I can imagine that Universal will do one even better.

The only dark ride/coaster combo I've ridden is at Legoland, in Carlsbad. It's a custom Vekoma skater and quite fun ;) That is, unless one counts the PTC dark ride at Conneaut....
