However, due to the nature of SFoG, its just not hard work, but how you present youself. You can work as hard as the best ride ops ever and never get noticed at rides such as GASM and Free Fall just b/c supes usually dont watch that ride as much as their high profile neighbors. Luckily your in a very good section for getting noticed. Also you got lucky b/c Jessica is a great supe.

I doubt Cyclone got NEW trains. Every year they're stripped down and totally rebuilt, so it makes them "like new" in most senses. If GASM is still running the trains it has had since 73, then I think it will be quite some time before Cyclone sees new 'uns.

BTW this is a perfect example of "miscommunication" around the park--filter what you hear and use common sense or you'll think a lot of misnomers are in fact true.

Hey you may not want to mention your supe's names on here. I doubt the park or the supervisor appreciates it (even though neither may know). Just a bit of advice. always use common sense when online.

Glad to know you got a job at this great park. I'm a regular there. Hope you have a good time. (and get those trains out of the station as fast as safely possible)

Well what I was told about the trains came directly from my section one senior supervisor so i figure he would know what he's talking about since the ride is in his section and he has been trained on it already by the full times.

I think they tell you that to pull your chains or somethin. I know last year I was talking to this girl at the RailRoad and she told me her supervisor said they're tearing down Ninja and putting up a S&S dropride 300 ft tall. I said to myself there is no way in the world we would get a new drop ride and we just got Acrophobia. The sad thing is that she really believed. Poor girl!!!!

Vue, I think what he or she meant is that they have been rebuilt. Everything is new or rebuilt unless it didn't see much wear. There's virtually no chance the trains a "brand new." There was no need to replace them at the end of last season. Like I said, filter what you hear and place it up to some common sense. Also, keep your online profile to a minimum in the park.

A phrase that applies to the rumor mills of Amuesment Parks, especially for an employees: "Don't Believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see."

Yeah, remember the philosophy of Six Flags, and most parks. If it ain't broke, dont fix it. Although the trains are pretty small, they're not that bad and they run well. The supe may have meant that (as in what GP was saying) that they were completely rebuilt, which would cause them to run slow at the beginning of the year. I guess we'll have to wait and see, in about 16 days, 15 hours, 20 minutes, and 5 seconds.

Actually Chris we'll find out in 11 days. March 10-14 is ride training so thats when we'll see if its sluggish or not. I can't wait for ride-training cuz it just seems so exciting. Does anybody know the minimum and maximum # of ride attendants needed to run Acrophbia and GA. Cyclone? Holla at ya boy!!

You need three for Acro, but it sucks with only that. Usually 4 or 5 per shift. Sometimes for for crowd control on Saturdays.

Cyclone can be run with 2 at the minimum, but that doesn't happen often. Usually 3 or 4 are on the dock, maybe another person height checking or CC.

Of course the ride is going to be slow at first. But not that slow. Especially with the trims deactivated.

Haha, does he sound like a certain person about this time last year General Public ;). That verification panel will get real old, real fast. And the numbers needed at the ride will be different this year as rides now has to staff the lo-q entry.

lol Chris. Anyway, the attendents can press the two cycle start buttons in the little attendent booths. The operator takes care of the air gates, opening restraints, and initiating the cycle. The ride can only be dropped manually in maintenance mode.

At some rides, yes, the verifier does control the opening and closing of the air gates, and Chris is right, verification will get real old real fast. It may be fun at the beginning, but after a while it will be nothing to look forward to. But also at some rides, when there isn't enough staffing the verifier also checks seats, or even when there is enough staffing they check seats to speed up dispatch times.

The verifier should always check seats, except at Superman. There's no reason not to. They do open and close gates on some rides (and even control shoulder harnesses), On Acro however, it's just a cycle start button.

And thumbs down to Intamin for providing a stainless steel operator's console. It reflects so much light it blinds on sunny days and get to hot you'll get burned if you touch the metal.

GP, you reminded me of Dutch Wonderland...buying tickets for the place, the countertop was SO hottt, it took a couple days for the burns to heal...I just blatantly put my hands down so I could transact, and OUCH! Stainless sitting in the sun is never a pleasant experience...isn't there some coating they could apply...keep employees and customers a LOT happier...;)
