What SF Parks arn't getting anything for 2003?

Just curious as to what parks arn't getting anything new... no new flats, or waterpark expansions, and have nothing announced...

I can only think of SFDL at the moment... please assure me there are others... :-/

SFoG *is* getting a refurbished Mindbender capable of running two trains again. Not really anything *new* I know, but a great...make that GREAT present to Hotlantans, and visitors...:)

I don't think Fiesta Texas is getting anything.

So far SFDL.SFEG,SFOG &SFFT are the only parks not adding anything for the 2003 season.

It's a far better turnout this year than it was in 02 for SF,I think they are starting to realize that in addition to the larger markets they've gotta add a little something to some of the smaller markets as well if they want to see a bigger profit.

SFDL, SFEG, SFOG, and SFFT have not *announced* anything new this year but that does not mean there are not new attractions or shows at those parks.

SFKK - Schwarzkopf shuttle loop (Greezed Lightnin')*
SFA - Whitewater West spinning rapids ride (Penguin's Blizzard River)
SFDL - nothing
SFEG - nothing
SFMW - Schwarzkopf looper (Zonga)*
SFNE - waterpark expansion
SFWoA - 10 new water slides and 2 used family rides

SFEG will not be getting any new rides for 2003. There may be some capitol improvements around the park but probably nothing big, or even noticable.

They got Zamperla The Flying Coaster last season. So no, not really.

The park that was in most dire need of rides was The Great Escape... but they got their ride for the year.
Next year should be even better...

But if you think about it... aside from the fact that Corporate are the cheap bastards that they are and just stiffing the parks that are actually making money for the chain... most parks that aren't getting anything this year, did in fact get something last year that was more than just a simple new show... so you can't really complain.

I can assure you SFOG is getting nothing next season. In fact, some shows have been cut out of next year's schedule.

The most recent ACENews reports that that project has been cancelled and the coaster will more than likely show up at another park next year.

I wouldn't trust the last issue. 5 reports from that issue I have already seen are false our far-fetched.

The most recent new from the designers, Systems & Engineering P.C. and Glynn Geotechnical Engineering, Lockport, says the project was simply haulted for one year because of the decline in the tourist industry after 9/11.

They just gave word on the project February 17th

Also, this design cannot be moved to another park, because this coaster is custom built to fit the mountainous terrain of Six Flags Mecico. The stats given were:

Length: 2,000 meters long

Height:70 meters high

Cost: $10 million

Max Drop: 230 feet

Speed of First drop: 55 mph

Puzzled? Just wait and see it. Remember your geography, Six Flags Mexico is built along the Sierra Madres, the first drop may reach 55 mph, but...
