ONE HOW DO you get the smiley faces in the posts, and 2, this may sound dumb, but what is M:TR

You use a colon followed by a ")" or a "(" for a sad face. For a wink use a semi colon followed by a ")"

M:TR is Moosh: the Ride - a long time running joke on the boards, don't ask. ;)
