Delirium, a swing above the rest.

It was the perfect moment to be passing by Paramount's Kings Island yesterday. Rising above the skyline at roughly a 45* angle, something yellow caught my eye.

The arm is now attached to our Huss Giant Frisbee and soon to be complete. To see pictures of the arm being attached and the final seating sectoins moved into the park visit www.pkiunlimited.com

Very nice! I can't wait. PKI's getting that ride up fast. Everyday I want to ride it more, and now! :)

Oh ya, this ride is going to be very fun. If you liked TR:TR I bet you will like this. I have not seen this monster in person yet, but it looks HUGE in the pictures. I really can't wait to take a ride past the park and see that bright colorful monster rising above the paths. I hope that we can get videos of it testing, that would be so cool.

No doubt! It should impress quite a lot of people.

I would think that testing would start within a few weeks. I can't wait to hear the 'wooooosh" that ring makes.

I guess I shouldn't be disapointed, but I always thought these Frisbees went all the way around (inverting). None the less, the ride looks awesome, can't wait to get down there and get my first encounters with some Huss Giants!

Joey I would like to see a frisbee that did go all the way around, but it pulls 4 G's already. Imagine if it swung around all the way it'd be about 6 and the arm would probably break off. I don't think testing will start that soon, probably towards the end of February or middle of March.

Fantasy Island are getting a Frisbee style ride that goes all the way around (though it's not Huss, forgot who's making it)

Questions:

Do the seats face inside or out? And how many will it hold?

For those who have rode these before, are they fun, really fun, or insanely fun?

I rode one at the York Fair, it was alot smaller but it was SO much fun. It's a different, but thrilling experience. Will Delerium be floorless, because it was at the York Fair.

Edit: The one I rode faced inward.

Delirium's 50 seats will all face outward. So those restraints will definetly be holding you in. The frisbees with the seats facing inward use the centripetal force to hold you against the seats.

I haven't riden anything like it but I'm sure this one will be absolutely insane.

Sounds to me like you rode the traveling KMG Afterburner. That is one amazing ride IMO. Delirium will face riders outside, and the seats won't have floors. It should be noted that the rotation of the riders won't be as fast as that of a standard Frisbee because of the outside facing seats.

I rode a Intamin Gyro Swing in England last July. This is essentially a smaller version of what Deliruim is. If my ride on the version I rode overseas is any indication, we are all in for a very special ride as I was really surprised at the feeling the Gyro Swing gave.

Especially when you get really high up, and spinning, man it's one of the best flats and is right up there with S&S's towers. It has some nice -G's too.

Is PGA's Delirium a KMG park model Afterburner?

I think it's a Chance version.

You are correct, it is a Chance ride. It spins at 11 rpm but the riders sit facing inward and only goes 65ft high. Delirium will go twice that.

Thanks

I knew it was quite a bit smaller, but wasn't sure who manufactured it.

...guess I'm the only one who is more concerned with the seating than anything else....with all these new spinning, gyrating, rotating rides, ONE thing strikes me as THE critical element in determining whether I'll ride: the seating arrangement.

"Seats face out, I'll ride it, no doubt. Seats face in, my stomach starts to spin."

I see most people are concerned with the amount of swing, and the height, and the capacity, and the speed of rotation, and everything else. Perhaps this is a concern that is *unique* to me....just curious if anyone else feels the same?
