If this has been posted already, I am sorry i serached but couldn't find a topic on it. Good afternoon fellow coaster enthusiasts. I was wondering if anyone knows where tehre maybe a vekoma canyone trip ride still in existence. I rember there used to be one on Moreys pier in teh 1980's when i was a kid.. The ride was simillar to a Huss top spin with two arms, but the arm could could go in opposite directions and it was lshaped like a boat and the boat would split apart while flipping over and one half of the boat could be right side up and the other upside down.

Thanks for you help

Busch Gardens Williamsburg had one called Gladiator's Gauntlet. This post had some info about it:

Is this it? Let the page load, then hover over "The Rack" to see a pic of it.

I have a video of one in operation at Wildwood. Quite a ride, but questionable mechanics coming from a prototype. It was replaced by a Hoppler Fun House in the mid 90's.

There's a couple of rides called canyon trip, which are similar, only the boats dont split, check them out at www.usedrides.com if you got $220k to spare!

Agent Johnson: I think the concrete foundations are still there, are they not? I remember them being enormous things, probably too costly to remove.

I always thought Gladiator's Gauntlet was more fun to watch than actually ride. Somehow it seemed lame once you were on board.

Isn't that basically the same as the infamous Quake at SFKK??

ShiveringTim- the Quake was a Vekoma Waikiki Wave... which has a similar arm movement, but the platform itself is different. On Quake, riders face outward (like on a Chance Falling Star or Huss Rainbow) on one of its two sides. The platform is also free to swing on the Quake and does not slide in and out like the Canyon Trip. I guess now that I explain it, they are pretty much the same! :)

Rob, The foundations are still there. The site has also been occupied by the first Chance Chaos, a Wisdom Tornado, and a Wisdom Gravitron.
