Sorry I took SO long to arrive, I didn't get a party invitation...strange (well, not really)...so I *crashed*...muwahahaha...dawnmarie313 said:
I nearly rear-ended the car in front of me as I ooh-ed and ahh-ed Xcelerator. It IS quite the beautiful tall coaster...at night especially, within the tight confines of the downtown location...with that big Circle K sign
... Was sent to the Guest Relations window where I waited almost 30 minutes (behind lots of angry folks) to get my ticket with my CP season pass.
They DO have a strange policy there....at every other SF/Busch/Paramount/Universal/even CF...park....hmmm, that's ALL of the chains I've had passes to.....you walk right in with your season pass.....perhaps delayed only momentarily by some illegible scribbling....Then we got in a super-slow line for Ghostrider, waited an hour and 15 minutes. When we finally made it upstairs, noticed that ride ops were moving slower than the 100-year-old Galapagos Tortoises at the San Diego Zoo
. do you mean the *live* ones, or those *other* ones... .an insane Ghostride, slightly vicious, but not painful, and with the scariest first drop on a woodie in my experience. Fun!
Did you REALLY believe it was ANY better than the SFMM wooodies dawn....whoa, almost *choked* on that one...Waited close to an hour for Perilious Plunge, got strapped in (ouch, but I felt secure), and got very, very wet
. VERY wet..VERY *secure*...VERY...WET..SECURE..VERY.
Wear dark colors or pack a blanket or an extra shirt or something. Who ya talkin' to, dawn...is this *advice for females* or somethin'...Xcelerator went down with computer problems
....you don't say...ROFL. But you did get back....Yay! It’s now 5:30 or so, and we spend the next 90 minutes riding Boomerang, Montezooma’s Revenge (I never realized how much I missed Tidal Wave!), the Tampico Tumbler, and Jaguar......Jaguar is a blast...Monte, Tumbler, Jaguar, and GR would make the beginnings a FINE park just about anywhere...a quick trip to the Santa Monica pier Saturday night to ride the West Coaster, nothing to write home about, but scenic and fun
. It's a *credit*...and it IS scenic....get to look at the beach, the ocean, and people weirder than....well...ya know....As it turns out X (boohoohoo), Riddler’s Revenge, Pyschlone, and Ninja are down for the day. Great. However, the park is very nearly empty...empty like in the fantasies you have as a kid (or maybe now) about having an amusement park to yourself. The Friday afternoon when we first got to CA last trip, the park was SO empty, even X rides in like 10 minutes….w00t! Rode the other "adult" coasters twice each (with Flashback! being the noteable exception...ouch) by 3:30pm
. Enthusiasts not even born yet will get on that thing before me, LOL…Quick review of some highlights: finally got on a Deja Vu...love it! Quite different from little brother Face/Off...actually thought it was less intense than Face/Off.
…well, this version does STOP more often in the middle of the ride…I do like the vertical parts, but is it worth the hassle if you’re considering buying one…Goliath...awesome shady queue, fabulous drop, dizzying helix, lots of people puking when they got off. LOVE that helix….never saw puking though…should I be happy about that or not…oh well, I digress….a LOT S:TE...is it or isn’t it? Who cares...it’s fun...and so loud.
Well said…fun, SO LOUD….Revolution and Gold Rusher...beautiful rides!
Gold Rusher gets not NEARLY enough props….it IS in a RIDE park, though…SFMM is by far the most beautiful park I’ve been too..so many hills and trees.
It’s a mini-freakin’-BGW there dawn…a regular treat for the calf muscles…Was disappointed in the lack of ride op interaction with guests, not once all day did a ride op say anything...and frequently didn’t even hear an auto-spiel.
Get on my ride, get off my ride, have a nice freakin’ day here at Six Flags Magic Mountain…Made me miss the crowd a bit...maybe that empty park isn’t so special. It’s a mixed blessing
…I’ll let ya know after I hang out on the Dragons for awhile when they reopen…. So anyway, at 3:30, we head back to the car and drive like madwomen to Buena Park (after a quick call to ensure that Xcelerator is running), and get to KBF at 4:45pm, the park closes at 6:00pm. We get in 5 rides on Xcelerator (holy adreneline, true love) and another spin on each Ghostrider, Jaguar, and Montezooma’s Revenge.
Sweet, Thelma and Louise take on SoCal traffic and wreak havoc on KBF….that launch IS pretty good, huh… Consoled ourselves with Coronas and mahi-mahi tacos at a rooftop bar
. Fish tacos AGAIN dawn…What is this horrific California traffic I keep hearing about?
Wait ‘til you get it just once or twice…you will KNOW traffic…I wouldn’t speak that way of something THAT powerful… We pack our bags, check out of the hotel, and call SFMM. X is running. We’re so there. We ride. That’s some crazy stuff...I’m not even sure what to say about it, but let’s just say I liked it.
???Liked it??? After the fish tacos dawn…how could you like it…..oh well….Great TR….perhaps I’ll be MOTIVATED…This is a sad attempt to post thru Word…I may need to edit and try again….please stand by….thanks, it’s been fun…. ***
edit: I tried to fix it several times, came up *snake eyes*....guess I'll need to learn SOMETHING about this whole text formatting crap, huh....;)
