Interesting looking at those pics.....seems they changed the cabins and/or painted the ride during it's 8 year life out there in California.
From those pics, it seems that that design would be even higher maintenance than the "typical" two (or even three) wheel designs. This might be why it only lasted as long as it did...I don't know.
I'm sure our pal Steven knows a bit about Galaxy...and he may be able to shed some light as to why the Far East seems to be able to keep this beasts running while the U.S. has simply given up (less ONE exception that is!)

Regarding the Magic Mountain Galaxy, unfortunately, I never rode it. The spot it occupied is still there, across from the entrance to GOLIATH. Those who I've spoken to who have ridden say that it was a great ride. I'm sure it must have been.
