Working Model Coaster

Well havent had an udate in a while you guys proboly got scared I quit =p. LOL Well I didn't!

One Month into the construstion and here are some new pics.

1.Took down first drop you can see that in the new pics didnt work out the way I wanted it to.

2. The station is almost complete still working on it.

3. Footing have been made!

4. Last turn into station has been complete almost.

TELL ME YOUR OPINIONS AND IDEAS!!!

That is so awesome man! I hope you know your layout so you dont end up with a non-complete circuit. I have a question though, how did you bend your Balso wood? I tries soaking a stick of it in water for 3 days, and it still would not bend. Any tips on how to bend the track?

Wow, that's really cool! does a real coaster run on it? you could put like pet hamsters in it and everything. I remember at Carowinds they have a coaster model convention, and they were really cool - just like this one! way to go...

May I ask where you got this kit and how much it cost?

Wow, that's beautiful. My only worry is that there won't be enough grade for it to roll... but i assume you've tested that by now

It's not a kit. It's a self project that he just decided to make. He actually planned the layout out and everything. I saw the first thread he made about this model, but then, it was only just his "breaking the ice" announcement. In that thread, it had a few pics of partly assembled supports.

It's great to see this thing go up so fast. Good work!

Props, Mat. It's looking great! Arrow Guy has some pretty sweet models, too. I'm hoping to build my own wooden coaster model, but first I need to get the funding for the materials. Do you have a rough estimate of how much it costs, Brad or Mat?

How do you get your balsa to bend for the track? Obviously for supports you don't bend it. I hope to make a model eventually. Cost is the main problem for me.

well I think it will coast anyware from 500 -600 for me

and bending the wood use 1/8 by 1/8 balsa 4 of them per rail it bends fine.
