Pets and coasters

We take our dog with us to PKI all he gets to do is stay at the kennel.How come there is no coasters for him.

Interesting, generally pets (with the excption of seeing eye dogs) are prohibited from entering amusement parks. As you noted parks do provide pet day care facilities, and IIRC PKI's is complimentary if you complete a short survey for IAMS.

There are a couple excpetions, such as Knoebel's where your pets are considered part of the family, and can be seen acompanied by their owners in the park, (but still prohibited from the rides).

There does exist a photo of a dog riding a rollercoaster, it occured on the Stricker's Grove Tornado.

Coasters for your pet... you're kidding, right?

Maybe some of the parks don't want a dog's land mine on there landscapes. Besides why would you want to bring a pet to a park? I surely don't bring mine.

I was having a silly moment.

We will be bringing our Baby with us on our honeymoon in May to at least three parks. Leaving her for 24 hours at a time to drive to and from major parks is a hastle, to say the least. She's a vital part of our family (in case you didn't get it, our dogs name is Baby) and she belongs there with us, even if she has to spend the time she will have to in a park kennel:(.

Dave? You're saying that if you fill out a survey they keep your pet at no cost? The kennels in general I've got to check out information on soon.

Anyways, about the Knoebels thing, it would be nice to walk my dog around a park. I'm sure lots of kids would enjoy it almost as much as her. Never would I think about wanting to give her a ride or anything. As for those landmines, I don't mind to scoop....... *** This post was edited by p_c_r on 1/26/2001. ***

You figure that most pets have motion sickness. So if they go on a coaster that goes 70 mph, has 5 inversions, then you don't want to know the consequences

Put a dog on a coaster, it will wiggle its way out.

Put a cat on a coaster, it will freak out, panic, and probably die.

The only animal I think that could survive would be a big dog that could be harnessed in. It definately would not be healthy for the animal.

How about a gerbil, or a hamster?

Knoebels alow pets in the park like Dave said, although not encouraged. You still need to carry the pooper scooper along. Last summer I saw an older lady with one of those little toy poodle like dogs on the train ride. It's not a coaster but it was a ride.

Not Too Shabby For A Summer

Hey P_C_R; you said your honeymoon is in May, I was just wondering what day, because mine was on May 1 of 1999. Just thought it was a cool coincidence.

We went to Magic Mountain for ours. It was my first time at an amusement park, and all the rides scared the %$@* out of me, but I've been addicted ever since!!

Just to stay on topic, we hijacked my parents to take care of Bubba (the dog).
