On their website it says Stay tuned for all the exciting news for 2003!
Does this mean they could be getting something?

It does sound like they will get some type of improvement. Do they have enough room for a roller coaster though? Maybe they will get some type of flat ride.

Not really, they'll probably just announce the concerts and things like that, but, then again, SFEG did have an addmission increase of %4, or something like that.

I talked with the Dippin' Dots guy and he assured me that Cedar Point was to get that 10-inversion terra-woodie-invert-stand-up because Magnum is sinking. The current construction is for the new super-Dippin' Dots stall he is to run.

I would predict a flat ride. My stay at Boulder allowed me to make a have day of the entire park while over there and they don't have too much room, seeing as the area they relocated to is smack dab in the middle of Denver. Perhaps Six Flags has an itchin' to try out some of those Huss giants.

I actually predict the loss of a ride...but I could be wrong.

As for what the site says, I am pretty sure ALL SF sites say that, and like rockman said, they will most likely announce the concerts and stuff.

If you read the exact words, it is clear they aren't preparing for an announcement.

"Stay tuned for updates regarding our fun-filled 2003 season!"

Edit: Just read these statements from other park sites.

SFMW: "Stay Tuned for more exciting information regarding the 2003 season."

SFGAm: "Stay tuned for an exciting announcement early next year!"

Those are the only other ones that say that. Some do say check back for updated information, but that isn't as similar.

You probably shouldn't hold your breath, but some improvements might be on their way.

While we are on the note of them getting a new ride...the area on the south end of TFC looks pretty empty if you ask me. Nothing more than a small flat could go there, but maybe some new bumper cars or something...

I don't think they will get any new rides next year though, maybe the year after.

Those could mean anything. From the clues that havve been spotted, SFMW is supposed to be getting a water ride, most likely a log flume.

That's totally different from the B&M flyer going to SFGAm.

Didn't they say the same about SFFT this year, and they recieved a bunch of new shows.

I checked a majority of the SF homepages yesterday & they don't say much about any ride announcements yet.

Even GE's & Jazzland's homepages read the same basic stuff such as stay tuned for more information on our 2003 season & we know for a fact that both of those two parks are getting coasters so anything is still possible,of course for SFEG I would count on some flats being added if anything in 03.

SFEG will have a new wave swinger called Turn of the Century and a ne raft ride alled Disaster Canyon for next year. :) For those of you who went to the park this summer, you may get the joke. FOr those of you who didn't, those two rides hade mre down time than anyhthing all summer but they are working on them for next year. However, if you re looking for something brand new, you're outof luck. Do look for some other capitol improvements for next year though.

What is this with Vekoma, are they now making wave swinger rides too?

I thought that ride was manufactured only by Zierer (original wave swinger) & Zamperla (flying carousel) has anyone got pics of the Vekoma model?

Actually the Turn of the Century has been at SFEG since 1998. It just had experienced some technical difficulties this season and was down for a very long time. Anyways, I believe Vekoma only made two or three. As for Disaster Canyon, the early closing could be attributed to the drought, the ride had to be drained for maintenance and the city would have charged tons of money to fill it back up.
