De Ja Vu's and Boomerang's

How are De Ja Vu type coasters compare to the boomerang's? Are they as rough (As people say) as the boomerang's. Do really hang on to your OTSR as you go up the first lift hill? I never rode a De Ja Vu, that's why I asked. To me the boomerang's aren't that rough. I guess that's why alot of them are everywhere now.

Dag Derrick, all these posts :). Anyway, The GIB's are alot smoother. Maybe because they are new, maybe they have spring loaded wheels. But do not feel that much pressure on your chest while being pulled upwards. the restraints are pretty comfy.

A world of difference between the two. The concept is the same, but the ride experience on DV is much more intense and fun overall compared to the boomerang coasters.

As Antuan stated, the restraints on DV are extremely comfortable and roomy.

Don't people know common French phrases? It's Deja Vu (Dèja Vu if you want to get really picky), not De Ja Vu. Anyways, I find SFGAm's DV to be very smooth, and have never hit my head on the restraint (in a whole 2 rides on it, lol.) As they said, it has a very roomy restraint, but it's not so comfortable that I'd want to be stuck on the first vertical lift for more than 5 minutes.

Yeah. With the boomerang models, while ascending the lift backwards, I usually prop myself up by pushing on whatever happens to be in front of me. With DV, that's not possible. I do really think that you do a lot of hanging by your shoulders on the GIB, but it's not necessarily uncomfortable.

And for whatever reason, I think that, while not NEARLY as rough as some boomerangs, DV has gotten a little nasty lately. Not unbearably (the restraints are relatively cushioned, but not nearly as much as an SLC restraint), but you still notice.

Lastly, remember this. If you EVER ride it, and you have a bit of time, you HAVE to sit in front. Nothing else compares at all. There is absolutely NO view in the middle seats in any other row, and the wing seats are restricted too.

The differences? BIG BIG BIG. And that's contrasting the Boomerang rides with the Invertigo rides. Now try place a Boomerang coaster next to a GIB, you've got an unfair match-up. Quizznos! :) ;)

The invertigo restraints are fairly comfortable even though they are the same ones used on the SLC.

I think it has more to do with the chassis design on the invertigo train & less to do with the actual restraint itself,there's little if any headbanging on the invertigo at all.

Deja Vu= Vertical lifts. 176ft tall. X-Shaped layout. Inverted.

Boomerang= Diagnol lifts. 125ft tall. Triangle shaped layout. Traditional Sit-Down.

Both= Lift, Cobra Roll, Loop, Lift, Loop, Cobra Roll. Cable Lifts.

Are there any parks with both a Boomerang clone & a Deja Vu clone at the SAME park??

I was wondering mostly because of hope... it'd be nice to see one of those bad-boys arrive at one of my local fav parks... of all those who already have a Vekoma Boomerang (or similar name).

No DawgByte II. There isn't a park with both. Why? It's kind of evident...by having both of those rides would be redundancy and there is no way a park would sell off a GIB when a Boomerang is already there. Plus, the GP isn't that unaware and naive about these things. They can easily tell the similarities...

As far as headbanging goes on Deja Vu, I have found the the closer you are to the back of the train the more you hit your head in the boomerang. But even if you do hit your head it doesn't hurt because you don't smack the harness that hard.

As for the difference, they feel like completely different rides. I didn't find the boomerang at SFWOA to be like Deja Vu at all, mainly because of the size. Deja Vu is so big, and the regular boomerang is pretty small compared to it, so you get two completely different feelings while riding.

I rode a Boomarang coaster at Hersheypark , and it was kinda scary to me at first, but by my second ride It wasent so bad, I dident really hit my head to much, but when watching the ride I noticed alot of people smacken their heads all over the place, so I dotn know what makes me so difrent.

Ok, I rode Deja Vu last year right after it opened.. Oh MY God! WAY chest pain compared to booms.. at least the boom harness were on my chest.. dejas were 9-10 inches from my chest and locked at the waist.. i didnt know I could bend like that.. to make it worse we were in the BACK! which made a better overall ride but.. sheesh the pain. I visited the Chiro for a month after that!

I was pissed that Stunt Fall was closed when I was at WBMW Madrid, it looked awesome :(
