Interesting... nine replies to a question for me.
Well, as anyone who has been on a B&M stand-up knows, they're not the most clever restraints ever made, and it's not easy to get people on or off the train quickly (or stand-up for that matter). While I certainly understand that, No park really does a good job of showing you how it should be done either. I've always felt that a restraint at the bottom of the stairs with a dummy in it, standing, legs not bent, would be helpful.
That aside, an already difficult situation was made worse by a crew with a bad attitude. You know I love the way they run that park, but these idiots were just vulgar. The ride would be silent for a half-minute at a time as all three trains would be stacked and motionless. Their spiel was totally patronizing and sarcastic, they would border on physical abuse strapping people in or kicking their feet around. Just generally not being nice to people. As a pass holder, no big deal, but can you imagine that experience with your once-a-year amusement park visit? Unacceptable!
I made some serious complaints to their marketing folk, the only people I really know on the "inside," and things seemed to change. Last year's crew did a much better job and always kept at least one train on the course. Word on the street is that they've considered doing an unload platform to shave some time off that crappy interval. We'll see!
