I just built a gigacoaster 180' tall with a cable lift. It has 6 blocks, starting with the loading point, they are: load station, lift, main brake, service brake, unload station, and an intermediate block to run an additional train.
When I attempted to run 4 trains, the first ascended the lift as usual, but stopped at the top. The main brake was clear, but it did not crest. Then--get this--it ROLLED BACK into the station and collided with the train there! Insane! I have no idea why it did this. Thinking maybe it was a random crash the game had initiated, I cleared and restarted the ride. The same thing occured! When I took the ride down to three trains, it works fine.
Now obviously, cable lifts have antirollbacks in reality. But be advised--apparently in RCT2 they do not!

Yah, that happens; it won't put a train in the loading station if you use doubles. So, if you have a Load station, Cable lift, ride, brakes, unload; it will put one train on the lift and leave the load station empty. Then when the 'cable dog' comes down and attaches to the train in the load station when it moves there, the train on the lift goes into freefall into the train in the station and the rest is history. A way to avoid this is making your brake run two blocks.

Yeah, normally I doubt a coaster with a cable lift would start to go back down with a train at the top. Weird.
Funny thing is, I have a safety brake block on this coaster between the mina brake and the unload station, and another holding block between the unload and load stations.

CoasterDude316, I got that exact same problems the first view times I tried to test at giga coaster...made me mad cause I just spent a RCT year saving the money to build it and all. Right now it giga's are working fine though, not sure what causes it, but I have had the problem.

You're damn straight she knows. You just described unload, load, lift and brake run, so why are you talking about a block between load and unload? That's the transfer!
MF is a special case, because there are actually a bunch of "mini-blocks" that overlap. All three trains move at the same time, so the train in the safety brakes and unload start to move before the lead train has cleared the load station.

Yeah what he's talking about is when you first start a ride out with two separate stations and a cable lift. Unless you put another block behind the last one, the first train will start on top of the lift without the sled attached to it, then the sled will come down and attach to the train in the station and the train on the lift will just roll back into the station eventually.
Jeff and I alleviated that problem by simply putting another brake run behind the waiting brake where a train can stop, and then the trains started in unload, waiting, and behind waiting.
