DCA new rollercoaster pic's

What is the point of having over the shoulder harneses with just one loop? Mindbender at SFOG has two loops and just a lap bar.

Looks great! Those OTSRs look like trouble to me though. Mindbender, SuperDooperLooper, and Revolution (pre changes) are wonderful, fun rides.

Check out the number of blocks. I remember that this coaster can operate 6 or 7 trains at once, and I believe is the longest steel in America now.

Yep, from what I know, it's around 6,800 feet long, smashing (well, breaking) MF's record of 6,595'. Looks a LOT better than what I had originally thought, too!

Jack, who can't wait for Opening Day 2001...

It can track four and load two for a total of 6 max. The OTSR are really more of a nusiance and prevent a nice view. The trains are like sitting in a box with no padding on the seats. It is a very smooth ride and is a pretty good front seater. Some nice g's in and out of the loop as well. A nice family coaster.

I couldn't really gauge the speed by the video, but it looks very cool, even if it's not the greatest coaster ever built. I never saw the mouse at the right angle to realize there was a loop there!

Lots of interesting engineering "things" there as well. It was weird seeing the LIM's on the track, because I'm used to seeing them upside down on rides like Volcano and Superman: Ultimate Escape. It's also interesting that what I assume are the brakes use vertical fins instead of the horizontal ones found on the hypers.
