How much land does Holiday World own?
Its looks as though there is alot of land around that place. While standing at the top of Zoombabwe I had a good look around and if the park has to grow tremendously in the future; it looks as if there is room. I'm not sure who owns all this vacant land though.

Beast7369 while in all honesty I would love for HW to maintain it's small park charm. Sometimes demand out grows capasity.
HW is makeing the right moves by adding three attractions for next year as two of the three days I went this year it was very, very busy and lines were becoming very long. Except for Legend which they added a train for us :)
I forsee all of HW's parking lot on park side and possibly the employees parking lot someday becoming part of the park while still retaining it's world class family feel.
Of course, This is if they continue to do well and I for one am not going to stop spreading the words HW to everyone who's interested.

True Chuck. Only time will tell. What I meant was the foreseeable future. I would not be disappointed if they expanded the park and managed to keep the small family park feel. Heck even Cedar Point has that feel to some degree....definitely more than a Six Flags park per se.
I for one would be excited to go to Holiday World again if they added nothing. But they are and wisely doing so to help thin out some of the lines. For some reason though I think that this may increase capacity but at the same time increase the ammount of people in the park. Hopefully that will mean more rides in the future!

Yes, that's exactly the point. And we're determined not to lose the small-park atmosphere.
By the way...as the wife of a farmer, I did want to clarify that the land surrounding Holiday World & Splashin' Safari isn't vacant. Actually, those plots of land are called "fields." :)

Paula - isn't it true that near the park is a farmer who plants only Wheat and Corn and calls his farm "WC Fields" ?
'Gator - I grew up in what was at the time rural Ventura Country. I remember shepherds bringing flocks of sheep down into the fields behind my house. We even had roadrunners, too. It was a great place to hike and in the fall when the grass would turn brown we'd slide down the hills on cardboard. No pun there, just wanted you to know I *do* know what a field is.
