Strange!!!

I went to RCT station the other day and downloaded a wooden reverser coaster and installed it successfully into the ORIGINAL rct. I started a new park, and when I went to build a wooden coaster, I noticed that I now had the option of building loops in the wooden coaster. I tried it out and much to my suprise, the loop was there, but it was invisible, the coaster, when going through the loop, was also invisible!! What happened, and can I get the loop to show up?

Yeah, that would really freak the peeps out!  I have a related idea for putting loops in a woodie. Put the loop(s) underground so the peeps don't know they're coming until the train goes up one!

Oh, and on a related note, are there any currently operating woodies that have vertical loops?

Yes Glidein...... there is a looping woodie at PKI in Cinn. Ohio that is called Son of Beast. It is the only looping wooden coaster in the world and is also the only hyper woodie in the world, it's about 218 feet if I remember correctly. Top speed is about 78 mph. It is also the second longest woodie in the world right behind it's father the Beast also at PKI.

I thought I had heard that SOB had a vertical loop, but I just wanted to make sure.

Does SOB have lap bars or OTSRs? I am currently under the impression that OTSRs are standard equipment for coasters that contain inversions.

Just lapbars for SoB.

I've been on a few loopers w/ OSTR's, including SOB. But SOB is by far, the bumpiest roller coaster I have ever been on with very minimal leg room.

Over the shoulder restraints are not a requirement for loopers. Son of Beast does not have OTSRs. Most Anton Schwarzkopf loopers (like Scorpion @ BGT or Montazooma's Revenge @ KBF) were not built with OTSRs. In fact, I can't think of one originally built with them. Some have been retrofitted with them, like Revolution at SFMM.

There has been a somewhat recent push to eliminate OTSRs on some loopers. The Premier launched coasters, like Flight of Fear and the similar/clone models had their OTSRs removed and a "lower body" restraint put in it's place. This change was a lifesaver for these rides, as the OTSRs made the ride almost unbearable.

Montezooma's Revenge is just an hour or so down the interstate from Revolution. It does not have OTSRs. Tidal Wave/Greased Lightnin' is several hours up. Both in CA.

It is rumored that in Los Angeles County it's a requirement, and SFMM falls under that law, but since Knotts is in Orange County, it doesn't need to have them. It's no state rule.

I would never ride a looper with just lapbars. I need the seatbelts too, and that's what keeps u safe really. Premier lapbars are strange though.

OTSR are the worst things for tall people, only because they restrict the height of the riders.

I think Magnum just fell into Lake Erie... File this with the other coaster "urban legends." I know politicians have a lot of time on their hands, but one has yet to go this far.... ;) Not true. Look at Greased Lightnin' or Monte.
