What's Next For IOA?

There has been alot of talk about what is next for Islands Of Adventure, and they certainly have been doing a good job of keeping whatever they are doing under wraps. Probably the most accepted rumor is the Jurrasic Park Jeep Ride. What does everyone think is coming to IOA in the future, and what would everyone like to see?

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters

They need a non-water ride for Toon Lagoon. I would like to see a toon-themed dark ride or indoor coaster. A toon themed CCI would be cool too :)

I agree, they need some more non water rides, because on the days that it is cold, or for people who don't like getting wet, there are not many non-coaster choices. Of course, I wouldn't mind some more COASTER choices :)

IOA doesn't need any more water rides...at least for a couple years. The main reason, Dudley Do-Right and Popeye water rides are the two best water rides I've ridden. Splash Mountain comes really close though. If they can get thouse dinosaurs working a little better on JP, that would be an excellent ride too. Overall, IOA has to be one of the best quality parks ever. The only kind of cheap thing they gave us was Storm Force. But I guess they needed capacity. I only had 15 min. wait for The Hulk and walk-ons on DD when I went though. Spiderman was an hour. Sorry I'm rambling on. Yeah, they do need a good indoor coaster in Toon Lagoon. I wouldn't even mind a water coaster if they have to fit in with their "lagoon" theme. I hope they have something great up their sleeves.

As good as it would be, there probably wouldn't be a liquid coaster put into Toon Lagoon because it would be too much like Ripsaw Falls, which does run on a coaster track half the time.

IOA is a park that you really can't but a woody in. They would have to put in a western theme area. Yosemite Sam? IOA is a perfect park for B&M's thats all they have. Now I was watching Jurrasic Park yesterday and, I thought to myself, Gotch if a jeep ride is anything close to this it would be amazing!

We went to ioa and stayed at portifino bay(loved front of the line access). While at universal studios we were given a vip tour by one of the cast members(really just a chance for him to goof off) and he stated that universal studios and not ioa will be getting the worlds largest indoor coaster that will be alot bigger than rocknroller coaster. Thats all he said and i cant vouch for his word but thats what i was told.

If this coaster does spring up I hope it is themed to Ghostbusters!

There is a 99.9% chance that Ghostbusters will *never* be used at Universal again. Sorry Mr. Peanut. They just have no way to profit from that. Universal closed the Ghostbusters stage show at their park in Florida, because there had been constant drops in attendance for the show. And it was a little outdated. I wouldn't mind a Ghostbusters coaster though, but i would rather have something more updated.

I would not be surprised if the next ride is located in Jurassic Park, becuase the original plans had a simulator ride in this section of the park that were pulled before the park opened.

Oh well!:( I loved the old Ghostbusters show! It is better than Twister! Twister, Ghostbuster's replacement is stupid.

They could make a sequel to Ghostbusters 2. I loved those movies and I bet they would do well. Then they could make a new Ghostbusters ride and it wouldn't be outdated.

True sfga2001. And Mr. Peanut, I thought Twister was one of the best things at USF. It would have been nice to have water soak the audience, but otherwise, a very short, but nice show. Actually I could write pages why USF is the worst park I've been to. The only thing that great was Terminator and MIB. Back to the Future and Twister were ok. The rest pretty much, was outdated and trashy. Not counting IOA of course. i was highly disappointed by this park.

I have no basis in fact, but I think a B&M dive coaster like Oblivion would be perfect. They could still have an intense drop without going over the height limit, and it would not take up much space. Also, IOA seems to have a good thing going with B&M. . . .

While it would be great to have another B&M, I don't think that they would because if they do get another coaster, they would probably be looking for some variation, since right now they have 3 coasters, all of them being B&M's. *** This post was edited by FloridaCoasterRider on 1/16/2001. ***

I think an indoor spinning coaster (like Exterminator at KP) would be a great addition to either Toon Lagoon or Seuss Landing. Would lend itself well to the themeing.
