New SFWoA Closing Date

SFWoA will be open on October 31st, November 1st, 2nd, and close on November 3rd as opposed to the last weekend in October like last year.

10/31 - 11/1: 6 pm - 10 pm

11/2: Noon - 10 pm

11/3: Noon - 6 pm

That's pretty kool. I havent been to the park as many times this year as I have wanted to. So maybe I'll go that weekend to redeem myself a lil.

It's gonna be very cold out there in the snowbelt. That should be interesting if we get a early winter.

I'm actually thinking about going up that weekend. I'm sure that it won't be crowded, I'm just a little worried that some of the rides will be open.

Yes, it's going to be Awesome!! If it is anything like Fright Fest last Season and the Bonus Days (October 30th & 31st) they had in the year 2000 ~ WoW is all I have to say. Some of my Best Park days ever :)

I am so happy the Park is doing this. The day my friend and I found out we went crazy, Lol.

PKI stayed open until Nov. 2 last year. I went on Nov. 1, it was a beautiful day, 60 degrees, clear skies and PACKED. Even Adventure Express had a full queue.

OMG packed was an understatement for PKI last year for closing weekend! I went both Sat and Sun and it was max capacity basically for both days. I had never seen so many people in that park, but the weather was so nice and it was the last time to ride the rolly coasters for the season.

That is really cool that they are adding more days onto the end of the season. I wonder what their motivation is? Hopefully a few people show up so they'll extend the season next year and for years to come. I know SFoG is open this year for the first weekend in Nov but only for passholders. Seems like more and more SF parks are opening for that first weekend in Nov now...

In Ohio that weekend is a definite risk for the parks, who must be playing the averages. I have seen really nice weather (like PKI last year, HUGE crowds and the parks was operating at limited capacity such as several coasters missing a train)

Other years it could be downright freezing and snowing. I think, however that since the region has been getting generally warmer, milder winters they are willing to risk the extended season.

1/2 of Fright Fest last year was really cold and had crazy weather conditions (sleet, snow, rain...) Didn't stop me though. I like it when it is cold, not many people come out and WAY shorter lines for those of us who do :)

I'm just curious, but, when its cold, rainy, and snowy, how many rides are usually open? Are most of the big coasters (X-Flight, BKF, Villian) open? I'm actually looking forward to going that last weekend, but I'm worried that if its cold, some stuff won't be open.

Last year on the coldest day at SFWoA in the snow, one ride was open. Superman Ultimate Escape. Rode it 50 times in about 4 hours before the closed.

It takes a lot to close the rides. Wind will do it before temperature though.
