Ride collapses at Ohios State Fair

Man, this is the second incident in a week. Almost makes me scared to go to the fair.

I went to the New 4 website, clicked on the link to the story and low and behold the banner I saw at the top of the page Cedar Points. I thought it was kind of funny, but that leads to the question what is the Re-Mix?

Re-Mix....anybody know what that is....(I'd guess a Zamperla Mixer based on the name alone).....

It's basically an inverted orbiter.. pretty fun though.

Just watching news reprots on TV and the ride didn't actually collapse. Two of the chairs "just" broke off. Injuries are not life threatening.

Just because you won't die doesn't mean your life won't be changed forever or at least really, really suck.

Let's see who can get a date with a nice facial Road Rash.

NBC 4 here in Columbus has video images of the aftermath. That car flew quite a ways, crashing through a barrier fence and onto the pavement. Thank goodness it went behind the ride and not toward any bystanders.

The Re-Mix is an Italian ride. Built by Tivoli and imported my Amtech. It is an Orbiter with inverted seats. Im not sure if Amusements of America own this or if its booked in.

The scary thing is, is I was on that thing on Sunday. I never would have thought.

Add this to the Tango trailer they rolled and totaled before the fair, and Amusements of America are not having a very good year.

What do I get for being tossed out of the Magnum? (Mondial Shake)

You know, it's very odd that this should happen. I was watching the news here in Columbus a day before the fair opened and it said that there where many proffesional engineers and builders there. They even said that the rides where all checked more than enough just to be safe. This might be out of their control, but it's still kinda odd to me.
