here is the rundown, i live around metro detroit, so 1.5 hours from CP, and about 2.5 hours from WOA(i think im right on woa) now, its supposed to T-storm this wed! so i guess that scratches that as a day to go, i wanted to go on tuesday, rest wed, and hit up WOA on thursday but i guess caz today is tuesday and im at home thats not going to hapen, so my question?

go to one of the parks with heavy chance of Tstorm, or do the parks back to back, CP on thursday, WOA on friday. ive been to the point tons of times this year, but how are crowds at WOA on a friday?

ooh for the mods, im not asking 'how are the crowds' i really wanna know if you think considering all the driveing i will have to do, is it feasable to hit the parks back to back, and coming home each night(broke college kid with no money for a hotel room!) or would i be better to hit WOA on wed when its suppsoed to T storm

I would to them back to back. Chances are while it may T-storm it won't happen the entire day ;)..

If you've already been to CP a bunch this year, why not just remove it from the equation altogether. Seems like it would be easier for you to take the trip to SFWoA and call it a day.

If I were you I would go to Cedar Point, even if you have already been to it, there is no park better.

I would get directions and see how far out of the way Cedar Point would be on the way back from SFWoA. This way if it rains a day at WoA, you can do it again instead of going to Cedar Point. Oh and I was at SFWoA at this time last year, and WoA and PKI had the longest lines out of the four parks I did (Kennywood, CP, PKI, SFWoA), so don't count on an empty park, especially on a Friday, I would think. Can any SFWoA regular back me up on this?

I've made the mistake of going to WoA AFTER CP on one leg of a vacation. Bad mistake.

I'm trying not to be a complete CP fanboy, but after seeing how they do things, nothing can really compare, and WoA will disappoint you much more if you do it that closely after CP. If I were doing this, I'd hit WoA first, and catch CP on the return trip.

James K and I have done both parks in one day. I got to CP for the early entry for Joe Cool members and resort people, and did every coaster from Iron Dragon back, excluding Magnum and Mean Streak. We then went to SFWOA, rode everything that was open (Douple Loop was closed) and then went back to CP to hit the rest of the coasters and got another ride on MF at closing time.

But that was all on Memorial day.

well i dont wanna turn this into a CP vs WOA thread, i have to go to both, my cuz is visitng from NY and wants to go to both he leaves saturday morning. now im debating weather tommorow to go to CP or WOA i def wanna go to CP on the nicer day caz it is overall a nicer park w\ more to do. im worried about being burnt out though if i save CP till the 2nd day!(btw i am driveing back to detroit, each night im not staying in the area) so im going to a park wed, and one thursday as it looks so far, to intense, should i take a 1 day break?

Hey, yeah, if you don't have a time limit, take a one day break, it IS a vacation after all :) Amusement parks arent the only way to enjoy the vacation...

I would go to one of the parks on Wednesday. It probably won't rain the entire day and will scare the crowds away.

Whoever wants to start a CP / WoA war... GROW UP!!

many places would be glad to have a park like WoA. Am I right Elitch Gardens fans? Why do spoiled brats have to compare the parks? BE GLAD TO HAVE THEM BOTH PEOPLE!!! Do you see people in Florida saying not to go to Busch Gardens that IoA is so much better... NO!! GROW UP!

We are lucky to have 25 coasters within a 1 hour drive of Cleveland. What other big city can claim that? Maybe LA? We are in the best spot in the world!! Spoiled brats do not realize how good we have it.

well im in bloomfield hills. today i ended up going to CP, not gonna write a trip report caz nothing really outta the ordinary, cept starting another thread about something around gemini.

went to CP today, stormed 1\2 way throught the day everything shut down, passed, opened, stormed, closed, so we left around 5, overall decent day but the ride ops on raptor had a REAL REAL bad attitude like they were better then us!!!! really made raptor pretty bad! i noticed it was staffed by allot of forigners, im guessing college kids are gone. tommorow: WOA, any tips, shortcuts to get there? advice what to hit up when?

Park on the life side, as everyone else likes to park on the ride side.
