PKD or Six flags America?
Im planning a trip to the Williamsburg area for a vacation in june and will go to Busch Gardens and one other theme park. Do you think PKD or Six Flags America is better? Which is busier then.? Does Six flags have a water park? Any info on either park would be greatly appreciated. Ive been to PKD one time and like it but have never been to Six flags America and any help would be great.
The only ride I thought was worth it at PKD was Volcano (it is a SPECTACULAR coaster, though). Everything else was just there. The wooden coasters ran like crap I thought. The steel coasters were mediocre at best. I'm sure Hypersonic will be a teriffic coaster, but you'd probably only get one ride on it due to horrendous capacity.
SFA on the other hand I found to be a delightful park, despite was others may say. I went in 1999 before Superman and now their new Dutchman, but I think ROAR and Invertigo are great coasters. Also, Superman is unbelievably good (I've ridden the mirror image at SFDL) and a flying coaster is a welcomed addition. They also have a freefall tower that is short but sure packs a punch. Yes, they also have a waterpark that is included in admission. If I could only go to one, it would most definitely be SFA.

Well, I may be a little biased;), but it depends on what you like. PKD and SFA are similar parks in many ways.
They both have waterparks included in admission, though SFA's is better IMHO.
They both have Premier-LIM coasters with practically identical layouts, except SFA's doesn't practically stop due to a mid-course, like PKD's, though PKD's is enclosed and has better theming, though its also rougher.
With wood coasters, its almost a no-contest win to SFA. PKD's Grizzly is overbraked and uninteresting, though Rebel Yell is pretty good, but their tracks almost never race, and The Hurler has a nice drop, but esentially nothing after that. The Wild One at SFA is a moved 1917 Classic Woodie, with airtime and lateral Gs galore. ROAR! is yet another example of GCI greatness, and puts SFA over the top with its 1-2 woodie punch.
After that, its close. Volcano at PKD is better than the Mind Eraser at SFA, an SLC. And I'll just put H:XLC and S:ROS at the same level, because I'm sure H:XLC will be awesome as well. Don't forget that SFA will now have a Vekoma Flying Dutchman as well, which I think puts the final nail in the coffin for SFA.

Well... It depends if you like launchers... Pkd has, i believe 3. and 4 woodies. SFA, which i have been to recently, boasts superman, which, if you havent ridden a clone, a supertreat (pun intended) incredible in the dark. The dutchman will bring a ... unique experience, even if it will be a clone. Mind eraser and Two face (vekoma SLCs) arent worth riding, and the freefall there is second rate. The woodies, IMHO blow PKDs out though. I wouldnt call SFAs water park good, though

The coasters are covered already. So I'll move along to flat rides.
PKD you will actually be able to ride some flat rides since SFA's usually understaffed with only a few running. Neither park has a vast selection of em so it's your call in the ride department.
